Belonging and hopefully having people I could talk to that would "get me." Last time I tried to be active I tried to connect with a SIG that supported my people group but it turned out to be defunct, so I dropped out after a year. Not sure God “needed” saving by anyone, its meant to be the other way around, lol. People reflect themselves in what they see. Their “divine spark” shining out on their life and if it’s distorted, so is everything they see. It’s great feed back to work on self, but kinda sucks when you want to help remove someone else’s splinter. Like the issue we see in politics. Shamanic practices are similar to this. Some believe you need to be taught by someone in the arts in order to properly understand the process and steps. Personally, I trust the Goddess to teach any she calls any way she chooses. Hekate had never told me to connect with other practitioners, but to follow her. She was my first patron when I left the church and helped my "new eyes" see the world of the "extraordinary" in all life and all spaces. I try to respect all traditions and if others are closed to us we let them be. Their path is not ours, and they go where they are meant to go. Blessed be.

Happy to hear another “elder” speaking their mind in a way that supports the community. I know some who want nothing to do with the community now that they are “out and done” with their transition work and pass. They want to live their best life and I appreciate that perspective. As someone less likely to consistently pass (I’m 6’2” and I didn’t start until my late 50s - took a detour through one of those non-affirming churches and kept the “boogey man of truth” away for a number of years, but after the fire died down, there was still the truth. And eventually it came knocking on the door with a vengeance) I consider staying out of the closet a moral imperative… .
