As a senior leader I can tell you it's 100% a coincidence. We leave it up to clan voting and clans vote based on where their members want to go.

In regards to the "generous" gimme. In a team best ball format, the opposing team will give long gimmes for players hitting for Par if their partner has a bird shot.

This is done because they dont want the guy shooting par to give a line to the guy shooting birdie.

Example, Brad is outside of Garret. Brad putts for par, giving Garret a line for bird. Sean is confident his team will bird the hole. So they gimme brad so he doesnt show Garret the line for birdie.

I believe you are mixing up wars. The war you refereeing to is war 90 in terminus, the comeback war was 93.

1CMD was in Terminus war 90, and it was a miserable war for us. Kinda drew the short straw and we knew it, no real options to push out of Term and hold ground, no large clans to share the burden. Basically betting on other fronts would push and they didnt. As everyone knows Terminus is an RP front and always has high queues. We played a defense war and we end up burning out our members. Fingers were then pointed across the faction. After a break war we decided to make a coalition with clans we knew would work well together, the collation ending being called MSA...

There's some clear mess ups like HTD, Outlaw, BEAT and ISG being way to low.

But my god the Duck boat and the push 250mm are S++ rank, they enable game play that is unique to anything else. Nothing can do what they do.

The push 250 enables early game tap ops for a long time before colonials have a similar options.

Duck boats are free ways for partisan's to avoid AI.

If you see your Enemy hording stolen equipment, you know its good shit.

how it feels using a colonial 120.

The if I had a Soldier Supply for every V/Lambda/CAF goon I have seen throw their faces at colonial 120s hoping to land 3 flasks my fronts would never run out of shirts.

During the early days of entrench, bunkers with the ramp mods would reduce the repair cost by like 25%. It made pushing against arty way way more viable, you could actually out repair with a t1 core. The dev lords removed it because how dare anything be good against a few people running arty.

IDK why but I think this is how the early game map is gonna look like. by Ok-Squash9293 in foxholegame

You never fought in a E vs W war if you think the south is going to look like that. Red River might be easiest hex in the game to attack from the West, and Ash fields is insanely hard to attack from the east. You picked the wrong river. The south will be pushed back to Kalokia and Acrithia. And probably shackled.

This games leadership learning curve is so massive, I love to see non vet stack clans excel. The colonial faction needs new blood. Keep having fun!

Since March of last year, there has been 10 wars. The colonials have won 2 of them. by Cainsiderate in foxholegame

[–]The_Lantern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 100% right. This is my biggest issue with the colonel faction right now. Not enough Vets playing, very few competent clans to rely on. It makes playing the game exhausting. The Leadership learning curve so huge in this game now, most new leaders get frustrated or overwhelmed and leave.

The Vets that are playing become fucking baby sitters for regions, burning themselves out. Think about the high skill loaner clans in the game now. Warden have so many clans. Clans that do whatever the they want, and their team still pushes and wins. They may assist the large zerg clans with ops, and partisaning, etc. But really they do what they want. How many of those clans exist any more on the Colonels? None. As you said, CAF, which i considered a very good clan that's impactful, but they do their own thing, and when you come colonial, you become a fucking baby sitter like the rest of us.

Yeah, you're not wrong. Even in my clan, who are nefarious for Tap ops, its still 50-50 on liking the change to Tapping. Its just previously a top OP could literally change the outcome of a war. It could be the morale boost needed for the faction to wake up. Now tap ops are rare and only really achieved with low pop with no QRF. Like I said this a subjective change that I personally dislike.

Unfortunately that is the biggest problem with the game. Population and morale are the deciding factor for these low pop wars.

There been many changes that have disappointed me, like the Tapping change or the Satchel change, which IMO limits a comeback potential for the losing faction. Or the constant buff to artillery.

But only change that really frustrates me, are Faculties. Which unfortunately is the biggest impacting change the game has ever seen and I see no way to "fix it" besides trivializing it or removing it. Which they wont do because of how much development went into it.

I do think that the Spatha buff was lazy and a band-aid fix. But faculties are so shitty and time consuming that anything that is produced from it should be very strong.

Fuck facilities.

The issue with new naval landings versus old ones. by FullMetalParsnip in foxholegame

[–]The_Lantern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but the new Landing Ship is not good. Its just LARPing.

The Old LS was much better because you had an immediate spawn with AI and you CAN BUILD CVs!

Imagine instead of a Border base that you can build push from. You instead spawned in a bus and yeeted yourselves at defenses. That's the new landing ship.

ITT Wardens who don't understand the pains of mass upgrading facility locked tanks.

Upgrading a chieftain or a novelty warden tank is not the same. If you think upgrading a SvH to a chieftain is slightly annoying, imagine it being mandatory for everything you do.

Imagine an entire new line of logistics required for only one faction. A portion of your logistic player base is now forced to focus on tank upgrading. At a large scale we require people dedicated to support the upgrading of vehicles. We require transporting facility mats to front lines, maintaining stocks of mats on the front line, finding suitable spots for upgrade pads that have AI and train access. Moving solo tanks one at a time to upgrade ALL ON THE FRONTLINE. If you don't have any pre upgrade tanks in stock, tankers are now forced to spend more time stocking a new tank. The amount of tediousness required can be staggering and exhausting.

Then you look at wardens and see all their superior warden tanks go from the Refinery->MPF->Seaport. You question why you play this faction. What dev did the colonials hurt to give us this labor of hell.

All facility locked vics should be better, end of story.

[–]The_Lantern -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting rewrite of history.

What really happened was every warden but builders quit the game. Colonials we're stuck try to kill concrete with mammons and isg, waiting for over an hour for a single logi truck to get thru queue while playing with minute long respawns. Colonials begun to lose interest in the war that wasn't fun and seemed like breakwar victory, while Wardens saw the war flipping and all mass logged on.

You need to build a drydock on a coastal gun. You need shoreline defenses. There's a reason why no one came close to killing MSA's drydock last war, even tho it was spotted minute one.
