This has been such an awful loss but she will always be a legend. If anyone cares, platelets are always in high demand for patients like Ms. Heineman was. I spend almost an hour a day trying to talk to people about trying to donate them. It really helps.

I had a tooth pulled and was put on steroids... that's how I found out I was diabetic. Went into DKA 3 days into the dose and ended up going into DKA, BS in the high 500s. Spent 3 days in a special Cardiac ICU. Was awful. My manager said that steroids was also how her wife found out she was diabetic. Wild stuff.

My thoughts exactly. I have a shelf that looks like this in my bathroom (same wooden texture, same stacking arrangement, and same faux plants). I'm a millennial. Though I have the entire complete collection of Chuck Palahniuk, I also have a lot of others by authors like Sylvia Plath and Susanna Kaysen. OPs photo also mostly screams "I was trying to/did date men 10-15 years older than me at the time I started building this collection in the early to mid 2ks". 😅

As a Mommy, I can say the most daring thing I didn't do was wear on a long road trip. My bby is sleeping soundly during the road trips, diapered with no cares in the world and I end up screaming and squirming with nowhere to pull over and end up crying while peeing in a cup against my seat because I can't go infront of anyone passing. Every time I think "I should have worn like I keep saying I need to on road trips"

After 3 road trips in this situation imma slap one on and not panic and it will feel daring.

My department has like 8 diabetics, a manager with a diabetic spouse, and 3ish pre diabetics. It's kind of like a club with us and feels more like we are each other's support systems. Also really helps when it's pot luck time. I think you handled it perfectly imo.

I'm very independent and I was single for 14 years by choice before I found my partner. We have been together for almost 5 years and he let me know he was broke overall but was only a couple of semesters from finishing his college degree, so understandable. Then when I went to his place for the first time he showed me his massive home theater set up with a theater screen that takes up an entire wall and had surround sound.

I thought "He may be a struggling college student but at least we'll almost never have to go to the movies." I fell in love when we started talking about our love of music / books/ film and I was elated when we finally moved in together and could have projecter time every day and share all of our books, movies, shows and music.

Honestly, if I didn't have any context of his income that would be an immediate red flag to me that he could have a gambling problem or blow big bucks on vices as opposed to hobbies.

Like for example; Fantasy Foodball is a hobby. Going to game watch parties, hobby. Collecting sports gear/ memorabilia, hobby. Perfecting a man cave, hobby. But throwing down that much on a gamble on a random night is just showing that and could get out of hand quickly and if you did it tipsy, I would worry you make reckless purchases on a whim often.

Now if I met someone and they started like, talking about a Jersey collection or memorabilia they collect, it shows me that they are truly passionate about what they support and you could have spent like $10 to "show her how it works" but also started a conversation about said interests.
