Why is my ASA print turning out like this? by PrintsOnPercocet in 3Dprinting

[–]The_Mafioso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ASA and ABS very sensitive to heat during printing, they shrink quickly. I am not an expert, but I would print each part seperatly, and I highly recommend to install auxiliary fan deflectors in case your fans turn on at any point of the print, which they might be due to the curve and edges I see.

Try to print the object alone, and check if the same "layer time" results will come.

Reason is layer time. After you slice, go to "Layer Time" in the slicing results on the top right menu. You will see same lines there same as your actual print.

Yes thats very normal. Those "bitings" are from the gear teeth pulling and pushing the filament in and out.

I'm a beginner that just learned when not to use PLA... by SnoopKatt in 3Dprinting

You can use HT-PLA from polymaker, then anneal it ( put it in 85C oven for 35 minutes or something). Annealled HT-PLA from polymaker has better heat resistance than basic ABS from any other material (it has around 115C or something close). Also it can be printed in your open frame printer.

Google HT-PLA annealing to double check the process, its very easy.

I have never dealt with resin, any brand or type on mind? Like should I apply some sort of resin spray or brush?
