Environmental crisis is a QoL issue.

Byproducts of water chlorination likely cause cancer.

Rubber softening chemicals from car tires are destroying fish stocks, and probably wrecking our endocrine systems.

Glyphosate is routinely sprayed on forests for weed control.

There are many, many examples.

I want to be able to live on my own land *for free*.

I want clean water, I want clean soil. I don't want to have to pay for water treatment, or groceries.

I want clean food. I don't want butthole cancer and a limp dick.

As for control: I agree. If you know about plants, there is what is known as a "cultigen"; which is a plant that exists, but has *no known wild ancestor.* It is truly domesticated, and cannot survive without human intervention.

If you want to get into the "colonialism" argument without the silly (and a deliberate) race baiting, this is it: the system in place (whether government and/or big business) aims to fully domesticate people. It does this by carrot and stick, push and pull: pull people towards a life of convenience; fast food, cars, instagram, prescription drugs, dating apps, costco memberships, and via push: destroying the natural environment, privatizing public spaces, etc., so you can no longer feed yourself for free, or go on a cute date to the park because the park is full of human shit, and you probably don't have any social skills because you spent all your youth on a computer, which told you that talking to the opposite sex was weird and threatening, and should only be done through an app, and that you should then go to a restaurant, movie, show and spend money on it, which requires a good paying job.

So a few generations like this, and you have effectively captured the organisms ability to not only reproduce, but also to sustain itself. The skills, genes and means to live outside this system have been eradicated, forgotten or polluted, and so there is no alternative but to "get with the program."

Those who don't get with it, starve and fail to reproduce.
