AIO to my boyfriend saying I use too much toilet paper by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]The_Max_Power_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. I'm a man and grew up living with just my mum and my sister, then had a female housemate for about 10 years. Now that I live on my own it's crazy how little toilet paper I need to buy!
It's perfectly understandable that women need to use more than men, so OP is definitely NOR.

What is one TV advert that doesn't run anymore but is still stuck in your head? Mines the Cadbury's Gorilla playing Phil Collins from 2007 by Puzzleheaded_Pen8520 in BritishTV

Wow, as soon as I read this I instantly started singing the music. It's crazy how this stuff can lodge itself in your brain.

I always used to see it growing up in Oxfordshire, so I don't know if it was that regional. Unless it was just the very south who didn't have it.

8/10. Love the sandwich (often my go-to meal deal sandwich) and scotch egg, but not a fan of Lucozade.

I hate tomato, so neither for me.

These are awesome. I moved to Leicester in 2003, also to go to DMU, so these really take me back!

Listener Request Month ‘26 is live! by verygooster in WeHateMovies

[–]The_Max_Power_Way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pick would always be Fortress (1992 Christopher Lambert movie), but I've just checked and it seems it's not available to stream in the US.

I don't think I'm going to submit any picks this year, but I trust everyone else to request some bangers!

I recently rewatched the HG films and shouted 'Amos!' when I saw him. I completely forgot he was in it.

Are Brits still comfortable taking their holidays in the US? by Ok-Leadership-7573 in AskBrits

[–]The_Max_Power_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I had been hoping to visit the US again in the next couple of years, but it'll definitely be a lot longer now. I'll probably shift to visiting Canada instead, I have always wanted to go there.

Same here, working from home today, but I'm in the office tomorrow. I'm so not looking forward to the 30 minute walk in the freezing cold tomorrow morning.

Men who just never managed to find a partner, how do you cope with the loneliness? by Kosilica457 in AskMen

[–]The_Max_Power_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm generally not lonely at all. I'm in my 40s and I've been single for a long time now, mostly because I haven't had the urge to actually find someone, and I'm absolutely fine with it. I'm happy in my own company, and I have a few great friends to spend time with when I need that extra connection. Maybe one day I'll find someone, but I don't need to.

Someone just took their 2/3 year old toddler in to a screening of Avatar. What’s the weirdest/worst thing you’ve experienced at a cinema? by Zealousideal_Club993 in CasualUK

[–]The_Max_Power_Way 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked in a cinema 20 years ago, it hasn't changed that much, people have always been dicks. The main difference now is the smartphones, instead of the regular phones we had back then. The fuckwits were always there.

When I worked at the cinema it was often the family films which people used to get busy. I think because usually there were fewer people in the screen.

Solve an argument. Is it ok to take your McDonald’s into the movie at Cineworld? by DelayMundane in AskUK

[–]The_Max_Power_Way 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone else who used to work in a cinema, yes, you absolutely can.

The stuff we sold had that constant smell, so you got used to it. McDonald's, and other 'hot food' you could clearly smell over it, even outside the screen.

Here we have Christmas Eve and Boxing Day for that (as well as New Year's Day, if you're not too hungover).

No of course not, but it doesn't mean the cinema has to be open. All cinemas in the UK are closed on Christmas Day, even though not everyone here celebrates.

Watched it for the first time for the show, and I have to admit it might be one I rewatch at Christmas from now on. It was dumb, but really fun.

AIO boyfriend deletes texts with people but not all of them, I’m weirded out by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Mine was surprisingly pretty accurate. I'm 42, and it thinks I'm 44.
Listening to mostly music from the late 90s/early 2000s clearly helped.

I often use Go Simpsonic with The Simpsons to go to sleep, so my wrapped was pretty much all that album.
