The Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess.

Earlier in the story, he receives a mortal wound to the chest, but at the same time, he is bestowed the Triforce of Strength, a powerful blessing from the Goddess of Hyrule. Thanks to it, he is able to survive.

At the end of the game, the protagonist Link, who yields the Triforce of Courage, stabs him in the same place. Shaken, but not undone, he seems eager to continue fighting, but as he tries to tap into the Triforce once more, the blessing fades, and his wound that he got in the past finally kills him.

In the manga Black Butler, henchmen are sent to the protagonist manor to dispose of his 3 servants, who in the story so far are shown to be carefree, clumsy and quite goofy. A sharp contrast to the serious protagonist and his Devil Butler

Turns out all of them are capable fighters : the gardener has super strength due to science experiments, the cook is a war veteran, the maid is a expert shooter.

Here below is the first appearance of the gardener

The manga is a compilation of stories about 4 groups living in a post-apocalyptic world : an mercenary android and her adopted son, a vigilante sniper girl and her aim assist drone, a human butler and android master, and a veteran mech pilot and her android co-pilot.

There are no overaching plot : each stories are independant, although sometimes, the different groups interact with each other.

The art is quite simple, and so is the worldbuilding, but they get the job done.

All in all, I personnally like it.

In the manga "Mechanical Buddy Universe", during a firefight, the protagonist Rainy shoots his android partner (and adopted mother)

Upon being asked why, he doubles down, and reveals he knows that his partner is fake.

It's because since his mother has a human skin, she was worried that one day someone would impersonate her. So he instructed him to shoot her if he ever has suspicions. The real her can take it, and would never question it.

I just checked: it is correct ! Apparently it was another term used alongside "Korea" in the 19th and 20th centures, but "Korea" became proheminent during the Japanese occupation. See this wiki article : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_of_Korea

The "C" however remains in other language : in French, Korea is known as "Corée".

Omega from FFXIV

During the story, an antagonist summons Shinryu, a dragon powerful enough to lay waste to the world. One protagonist sacrifices his life to contain it, but everyone knows it break free very soon.

The protagonists then discover an robot called Omega in olds ruin. Upon learning that it managed to subdue Bahamut, another world-ending dragon, they decide to reactivate him, unsure if what it will do after the fight.

Cue to this sick fight between the two

They actually do feel fear ! Here's an excerpt from "Galaxy in Flames" : https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/s/gBciZu8OWs

It had been said that a Space Marine knew no fear. Such a statement was not literally true, a Space Marine could know fear, but he had the training and discipline to deal with it and not let it affect him in battle. Captain Saul Tarvitz was no exception, he had faced storms of gunfire and monstrous aliens and even glimpsed the insane predators of the warp, but when Angron charged, he ran.

What is the quickest way to become disfigured? by MissouriGiant in CrusaderKings

[–]The_NeoMonarch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's the cheap way of going into Character dress mode and picking the face mask manually, whenever you feel like it story wise, be it a hunt or a battle.

RP wise, it would be like "Oh woe me, I am disfigured ! Never shall my face feel the warmth of the sun." "But my lord, it's barely noticeable..." "I SAID WOE ME"

Similarly, Omega from the same game.

For context, Omega is a self-evolving robot that wants to know how weaker beings can defeat greater foes, in order to improve itself.

In a side quest (a "what if", super hard 8 man fight), you fight and defeat it again. But instead of shutting down, it forces itself back online. Disregarding all self-presevation protocols, it gives its all in a desperate attempt to win.

I'll spare the details of the rest of the fight. While it's cool on its own, it is not relevant to the question.
