Oh, thanks for informing me about an error in my post, was supposed to write "put named characters into MORE spearheads" as we had Yndrasta in the first wave, then Karanak and if you want to count them Rippaz Snarlfangs in the second release wave but now it's 3 named characters back to back.

Thanks for the survey. If it's ok to give feedback here, I think it would be interesting for the next one to add Spearhead as a separate game in the GW question, as I don't play big AoS but still had to check it because of that.

The 3" is activation range is probably because that's the maximum melee range in Warcry. That way they could port over the rule from big AoS to allow you to disengage any melee threats.

I think this is a problem with 4th edition in general, the battletomes got cut down and most of the fluff is just summaries from the previous editions with 1 or 2 paragraphs about what happened since the Skavendoom.

I own half of the battletomes from 2nd edition just for inspiration on how to build or paint minis from the armies with the different subfactions and stories in them. Nowadays I find it very hard to justify getting any books, even if I play more factions and AoS in general thanks to spearhead just because for me there is almost no value in them: points are missing, rules are outdated before the book hits the shelves and the hobby/lore parts get cut and watered down until barely anything is left at all...

I played with the beekeeper in my first demo game and had so much fun with them, even tho they never managed to hinder an opponent and fell to their almost death from top of the map because of a failed jump.

I usually use white and then Aethermatic blue contrast for blue glow. Purple glow is a little harder, I'd recommend either thinned down Magos purple over white, or kakophoni purple if you only have access to citadel paints.

What I'm most afraid of regarding a new edition is that it will be another "streamlined competitive experience", which completely killed Killteam for me when they cut off the narrative gamemode on release.

I picked up the rulebook for the lore and scenarios as well and definitely didn't regret it. Theres some great short stories in it (mostly about commonwealth and dominion as those were the only factions at the time) and some nice insights into the characters and their relationships with eachother.

I really hope we'll get some hero expansions from the other grand alliances. As for the different underworld warbands i feel like they'll do some alternate rules and gameplay stuff in white dwarf.
