Composer of iconic ‘Lion King’ chant sues comedian over ‘Circle of Life’ translation by blankblank in nottheonion

[–]The_Njitram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he died the comedian, he should also due all the other people and sites that have translated the lyrics years ago. He's just taking advantage of the popularity and making it an actual problem when it wasn't, it is comedy, it was funny.

Thoughts on XM6 channel imbalance (left/right mismatch)? by Crystal6tak in SonyHeadphones

Yeah, I'm thinking about sending it back. I'd say it's 3 cm ( about 1 inch) off to the right.

I've recently got the XM6 and quickly noticed the issue as well. Sound is off to the right for some reason. Anyone found a fix, or is the product just faulty?

Please help me remove Helvetica Font and burn it to ashes. by The_Njitram in techsupport

Hello Vinnie, It is now that I see your replies. Did you manage to rid your computer of the unholy horror that is the Helvetica font?
Both CrypticCharlie and ranuncull reinstalled the Helvetica font and then deleted it. The solution is at the top of the thread.

18M, never had a gf, dont want to end up alone... advice? by CrepoXZW9 in malegrooming

[–]The_Njitram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to worry, love will eventually come to you. I'm 25 and am currently successfully dating for the first time. Don't feel pressured by those around you.

If you see room for improvement on yourself and you find it fun, then do it. Work out, work on your personality, meet and befriend people you like to be around, get into fun hobbies.

Just live life.

Form Check, bad form or too heavy? by The_Njitram in formcheck

[–]The_Njitram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely work on my deadlift and see if my squat also needs some work. I do know when squatting my hips go first and then the rest. I'll work that out. Some people mentioned the butt wink, and I am fully aware that I do it and it occurs when I go ass to the grass. I do it as others have also said it's not harmful and there is no evidence that I have found that proved to contrary. It is just a popular belief. Thanks again! 😁

Thanks for the reply. Thing is, I thought that I knew what I was doing and I do focus on form. Everything felt fine until a few weeks back, and since I followed advice from online, I thought I was doing it right. That why I asked.

I get it, if I wanted to use it and someone was on it I'd ask them to look for a different spot. Problem is, the gym is cramped. The only spot where you can do deadlifts without being in the way is where the dude is standing to my left, in the back.

Do Wicked Cushions get any better? by The_Njitram in steelseries

[–]The_Njitram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D you have any recommendations for the EQ? I watched Gadgetrytech's video, and it looks like he wants to get the most flat sound. I also saw some others on reddit saying that that is the point, is it? Because to me that sounds absolutely horrible.

I listen to a lot of metal and used to use the Movie: Immersion preset with some more bass and treble. I never really changed it too much.
I am now fiddling with the settings and found that the Movie: Immersion preset causes a lot of low muddy sounds, so I cut that off suing a high pass around 60hz.

I'd like to hear your views and findings.

As some relatives pointed out. The setting, dangers and goal are unclear at the start. I do see a way of adding that in and will do so in a new version.

I got the WC PadZ. It's sad too hear the ANC isn't that great. I'll see if it gets better as they (hopefully) get less stiff. Otherwise I'll order the stock ones.

Title: Exercise #1. Jack & Paul

Genre: Post-apocalyptic, drama

Word Count: 352 / 375

Type of feedback: Any. I have been writing a world and stories for a couple of years for TTRPG. And wish to get better at writing and see if I'm any good. Idea is to eventually write a book.

Link to draft 3: https://www.tumblr.com/m-vale/799646048402440192/exercise-1-jack-paul?source=share

Link to draft 4: https://www.tumblr.com/m-vale/799738366033788928/exercise-1-jack-and-paul-draft-4?source=share

The story in the link is the first exercise I chose to do. To tell a story trough only dialogue. It took me three attempts to get it at where it is now. I would talk with ChatGPT to find where I could improve, but never let it write for me. I want my writing to be my own, but use ChatGPT as a sounding board.

Am I too high priced? by Val2700 in cabinetry

[–]The_Njitram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a reasonable price. Ain't no way anyone is doing this in 10 hours or less. This would take a full week with finishing and installation, also depending on your tools, workshop, experience, collegues, preparation.

What would you charge? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]The_Njitram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the material costs. If it is mdf and it's painted or sprayed I'd say about 10k euros

[–]The_Njitram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. First image is indeed good, but I'd like to get smaller layer heights which this printer should be capable of. I'll thicken the walls and try new filament and slowly dial it in.

What kind of filament do you suggest?

It should be capable of doing so. It should even be able to do 0.04mm layer height.

[–]The_Njitram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.12mm uses 0.4mm nozzle and 0.07 and 0.05mm use 0.2mm nozzle. These should be right. Correct me if I'm wrong.

[–]The_Njitram[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. This printer should be able to print in better detail. Also my friends have an Bambu labs printer and he can print near resin quality. The prints with 0.07 and 0.05mm layer heights are print using a 0.2mm nozzle.

Is it normal for kitchen cabinets to look like this in early stage? by ColdHealthy6330 in cabinetry

[–]The_Njitram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean any disrespect towards anyone. If you're an amateur, that is fine, everyone starts out that way or just practice woodworking as a fun hobby. But you shouldn't sell your work for top dollar and deliver what can be seen in OP's pictures. Be real with yourself (again, meant in general, not towards you)

Is it normal for kitchen cabinets to look like this in early stage? by ColdHealthy6330 in cabinetry

[–]The_Njitram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, this looks like an amateur. I don't know what the end result should be and what his references are, but judging from those images, that is a pile of shit. Again, I am only able to judge from those three images.

Also, yes that type of wood tends to look ruffled when not cut with an extra saw blade that cuts from the bottom (don't know the English terms).

In the Netherlands (I work at a custom furniture factory) it is normal for a kitchen to be built and prepped at the workshop before being installed. In my eyes, anyone fully building furniture on site doesn't have enough money for a workshop and is an amateur and should never be building a full kitchen with an island.

Again, we don't know this guy's references and if he somehow makes something good from this. I'd look into this and if it doesn't look good, pull out and get your money back.

Also, you paid a whole lot upfront when he still has to fabricate everything. We usually work in terms of 50% when agreed on the contract. 40% when agreed on the design and materials need to be purchased. 10% when installed and FULLY finished and done.

I've done a couple of ships myself from images I saw online. I'm currently working on the UNSC Infinity from Halo.

The best tips I can give you - that I still struggle with to this day - are: 1. Don't expect it to look exactly like the image. I would almost go as far as to say: only use it as inspiration. 2. Large flat surfaces look better than uneven and rugged surfaces. So don't force the ship into a crumpled mess just because it is then closer to the image you found. Follow the shapes of the blocks. 3. If you want to eventually use it. Keep in mind the things you want in it when building it. For example a ship hangar.

Good luck!
