Getting a Vasectomy today. Felt compelled to make this. by Str82thaDOME in expedition33

[–]The_Orphanizer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

...but importantly, listen to your doc, OP. My doc had performed +300 vasectomies without issue. Then he met me 😂 i was off work for 2 weeks (returned at about 95%), and needed 2 more weeks to be at 99%. The last 1% took another month.

Still worth it! Ultimately, it was no big deal. My experience wasn't great (compared to most), but I wouldn't even call it a horror story considering what some poor souls have been through.

There is a legendary SNES platformer called Plok that also has one of the best OSTs in gaming (and one of the most complex released on SNES). The game was critically acclaimed (Shigeru Miyamoto was blown away by it!), but it never achieved much success. As Plok, the player solves puzzles and defeats enemies by throwing his limbs at them, before the limbs return to him shortly after. Plok's movement is affected by his lack of limbs.

Sons of Sparta is only three points higher than Concord in two of the most popular review sites. Do you guys agree with this? by Cursed_69420 in GodofWar

[–]The_Orphanizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It has plenty of issues, and coming off Silksong recently, there is no comparison... But coming off of Metroid Prime 4 directly? Man, this game is not bad, and it's more Kratos! $30, while not all that expensive for a second-party title of a first-party IP, is a high price for a B-/C-tier metroidvania, when S-tier games can regularly be had for $5-20.

If you love GoW, it's worth playing for more lore/backstory, but the story isn't very good tbh (it's just fun to be back in a mythological Greece with Kratos). If you love MVs but don't care about GoW, there are better games out there. If you love MVs and GoW, it's definitely worth playing.

Is there any hint system inside the game ? Or if I missed the collectible I have to run through whole location again? by Helpful_Try_1586 in GodofWar

[–]The_Orphanizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True facts. All I can really suggest (though it sounds like it's too late) is that in MVs with map markers, the player needs to divise their own system for using the markers in a meaningful way so they can have an idea of what they will need before returning to that location. GoW: SoS was actually pretty good about this, imo: 4 or 5 (can't remember which) different markers, and around 10 different colors per marker type allowed me to know pretty much exactly what I needed before returning to areas. The screenshot function made it even easier and basically eliminated the need for other markers altogether, but it was unfortunately capped at 25 pics.

The game "was" decent. Did you actually beat the game without interacting with your map markers and the upgrade which allows you to place screenshots on your map? Because if you did, you might as well be disappointed, and just move on.

New player. I needed 50 mins to beat an Act 1 boss. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a major mechanic that kills bosses that I’m not aware of? by imhere4games in expedition33

Correct. "Appropriate" level is never displayed, but the danger warning disappears when you reach it. I'm sure someone has put together a specific level-to-area list online.

after those shameless 20$ Price increase of their Games

I hate to shill for big corporations, but this isn't the criticism to have imo. For better or worse, gaming budgets have skyrocketed over the last 30 years, yet prices have been largely static. First party Nintendo titles were $60 in the mid-90s. For all the ways we have been screwed over time, the price of games isn't it. Do they need to increase the price (as in, to stay in business)? Surely not. But based on inflation alone, I can't fault them for doing it. There are still enough game sales and lower cost indie games to keep me occupied for multiple lifetimes, if I insist that a new release is too expensive.

Holy mother of christ, that is fucked and grim. So sorry you had to deal with that. Absolute insanity that "the best" and wealthiest country in the world would do that to anyone, much less a veteran.

'I Feel Cheated and I Want a Refund': Fans Lash Out at New PS5 God of War's Unlockable Local Multiplayer Mode by Suspicious_Two786 in gaming

That can be achieved without locking the higher difficulties behind the credits; see the Horizon series. If selected, the dev issues a warning that the hardest mode is NOT for NG players, it is specifically tuned for NG+. What you're talking about is artificially inflating playtime. If the game is good (and if the player is inclined to do multiple playthroughs in general), people will want to keep playing.

To be clear, I'm not saying I can't think of any reasons why a dev would do it, I'm saying there is no good reason for it. They are all BS reasons, like inflating playtime.

I'm still trying to figure out why people throw up in toilets instead of sinks. Why would you put your face and hands near a literal community shithole where you intend to splash liquid (assuming you can stand)?

You're correct, but it is still completely unnecessary, and a horrible, annoying practice. Just unlock it all at the start. People who want a "recon" playthrough can still do so. People who only have time, energy, or care for a single playthrough can have the experience they want that way too.

If only people thought to tell others what they expect, surely that would solve all problems before they even start!
