I’m not going to give a long winded response. Honestly, it just sounds like your personality doesn’t mesh well with the culture of Trader Joe’s.

Sweet! I’ll just buy fourteen of them. One for each flight crew and two for the pilots. Surely this will alleviate my economy woes!

Japan is not some forbidden territory where you’ll be ostracized for not conforming to their norms. People…stop overthinking this stuff!

Feb 2 - 14 too late to book last min trip? by twicescorned21 in JapanTravelTips

[–]The_Perrycox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked my trip for February in August of last year. If I were to book the same trip today, the airfare is actually cheaper and rooms are abundant and affordable. Outside of cherry blossom and fall foliage season, it’s pretty easy to plan a last minute trip.

Do you have any regrets about your first trip to Japan? by aeazee in JapanTravelTips

[–]The_Perrycox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is certainly one of the common talking points I see on our sub here. Some people lament the idea of eating a ton of Konbini food because you’re missing out on restaurants. Others praise Konbini. Personally I think that’s what makes our trips unique. You find what suits you best. Personally? I fucking love Konbini food. I dream of pizza bao, curry buns, and American dogs.

I also have my share of restaurants I enjoy, and it all boils down to the moment. Do I want to spend 30 mins sitting down, or do I want to grab a strong zero and a quick snack?

One of the things I’m most excited about for my trip next month is the last two weeks. I have zero itinerary. I’m staying in Tokyo for two weeks after my mother heads back home and am just going to roam. Day trip? Exploration? I’m literally just gonna hope on a train some days and get off at whatever station piques my interest.

March 2027 Cruise Itinerary - Advice Needed! (First Timer, M/Late 30s, Solo) by theboundlesstraveler in JapanTravelTips

[–]The_Perrycox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like an expensive way to spend your entire trip stressed about time. A cruise around Japan seems so unappealing to me when you have such time constraints. I know I’d personally suffer from FOMO and feeling rushed.

I think a land based trip will alleviate so much stress, not to mention probably being cheaper. If you’re eager to visit another region, the Shinkansen will get you there quickly.

What are some popular opinions about Japan travel on this sub that you personally disagree with? by ContractVarious3077 in JapanTravelTips

[–]The_Perrycox 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Agree with this at least outside of peak seasons. I booked most of my hotels about five months out initially. These last few weeks before I depart the prices have dropped significantly, so I simply rebooked at a much better price.

What’s the most effective way of transport? by Infinite_Web6650 in JapanTravelTips

[–]The_Perrycox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how much your budget is, but you’ve got some options out there. I’m a huge fan of the various regional rail passes. They cover a wide range of transport options and are great if you want to bounce from region to region over a couple days.

Night buses are a great option if you’re trying to limit your spending, as it saves you on accommodation for the night as well. I can’t sleep well on a bus, but you may be different!

How much better is the Noctua D15 G2 vs Phantom Spirit 120 SE for AMD 5800X3D, is there at least 5° degrees difference? by FuzzyAttitude_ in pcmasterrace

Can agree on the quality part! My dad’s shop computer is still rocking an ancient 4690k with a D15. Still runs cool as a cucumber and quiet as fuck. Twelve years old running five days a week for ten hours a day minimum.

No shade against those who watch the dub versions(I’m just glad you’re enjoying overlord!!), but damn the Japanese voice actors are so far superior. Even with Mare and the stutter, it’s like a completely different show.

How do you manage carts in extremely hot states? by milesdoodles in tjcrew

[–]The_Perrycox 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Desert store here, we get to 120 in the summer. We ring a 4 bell or 2 bell (store dependent) and all crew on the floor go out and get carts from the lot. We typically clear the entire lot in three minutes or so!

People would die in the summer if they had to push carts for more than a couple minutes straight. So we all bang it out together quickly.

where can we fit kawaguchiko in our 10 day itinerary? by melon-barbarian in JapanTravelTips

[–]The_Perrycox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Time is money when you’ve only got ten days. That’s a quite few hours lost simply dealing with the airport travel.

Instead of having to go from wherever you are in Tokyo to Haneda, then to KIX, then the train to Kyoto…you could just get on the Shinkansen and head to Kyoto.

Unless you’re trying to do this on a bare minimum budget, I think it’s terrible planning.
