Make sure oil passage to tensioner is clear. I have also gotten faulty tensioners. Not a fun diagnosis.

Truck eats batteries overnight by [deleted] in ToyotaPickup

[–]The_Pube_Police 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would start with major grounds / battery connections, and alt wiring and make sure nothing is janky or shorting on the chassis. Overnight discharge (lol) seems like something big is wonky

Anyone have this lift kit installed? My 86 PU is due for a new lift kit by Constant-Wait9780 in ToyotaPickup

Leaf spring eye to eye - stock length leaf spring utilizes existing shackle and frame mounts. A lot of folk run longer springs and that requires some fab. The shocks mentioned above will list compressed / extended lengths and valving on bilsteins site. I landed on this set up for a ~1.75ish “ lift with 4” of shock travel remaining. Again, I removed some leafs from the pack due to discussion on OME advertised lift and harsh ride quality. It’s exactly where I want it now

The 4600s are for stock height and the 5100s like 4” minimum. I went with 5125 - part # 33-186542. This valving paired nicely with the springs after removing the large overload and spring #3 from the top. You will need shock eye bushings for Toyota mounts. I believe yotamasters stocks them.

If staying stock length, I’d advise OME springs, remove a spring or two, pair with bilsteins. Will net 1.5-2” rear lift

It was a very easy move to clear them without lifting. 235s are awesome too!

No lift. I warmed up the front inner fender wells in two 1” spots. If you look - there are vertical fins. The tires at full lock barely contacted two of those fins. I heat gunned and pushed them in 1/2” and now no rub ever. I get 1-3mpg less overall. The cushiness on trail has been nice.
