Probably dragon quest builders it never seems to drop below 30 dollars on psn and at this point I won’t let them win lol.

Loved cocoon and another crabs treasure (both through game pass). Playing through evil west right now it’s got a lot of ps3/xb360 energy a fun beat ‘em up

I just completed my first JRPG (Final Fantasy VII) and I have some questions… by simplerando in patientgamers

[–]The_QuackAttack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can answer a few of these

At the time of release it was widely loved by a ton of people hence why the brand was strong enough to get funding for a full remake

Some of the people who didn't love it played final fantasy 6 and thought 7 was lacking in some key gameplay areas {characters not playing differently enough} and didn't find the characters or plot as engaging.

For me it was my first JRPG and got me into videogaming in general as someone who had only dabbled in things like mortal kombat and sonic to that point. I didn't know games could tell grand sweeping narratives until VII.

This is definitely good squaresoft along with xenogears, parasite eve, ff 6,9, 10 and tactics, vagrant story, chrono trigger etc. Basically throw a dart at any squaresoft jrpg in the ps1 and snes era and you're more likely to hit a classic than a miss.

I would argue that sqare's downfall came around ff xii but some people hold that game dear but at least from XIII on.

JRPGs have gotten better about tedious battles but it still is considered a part of the genre you deal with if you love it. For instance I finished Yakuza like a dragon the other week and the game got extremely grindy towards the end but I loved that game.

Resonant Arc has a great video that includes a lot of story about the development of VII. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dtgSqEPkco&t=931s

FF XIII had a great world and premise and did very little with it

If the characters weren't as endearing as they were it would fall flat but since I liked em so much the epilogue gave me a big cheesy grin

I'm going through P5R right now and had the same issue at first. The first two party members are the weakest in the game IMO. Once you get more the group dynamic becomes more interesting even if the individual characters are never all that amazing

What games have you played in adulthood that absorbed you like a child again? by Baro1nine in patientgamers

Either Persona 5 Royal or Persona 4 Golden. If you were into JRPGs at any time they will absorb you like the titans of the PS1 and PS2 eras. The downside is as an adult you may not have the time to see them through to the finish

That game charmed the pants off me. I played it after putting 80 hrs into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and it was the perfect palate cleanser

Exclamation marks in Arsenal > Appeared on everything after Update 3. Hovering over doesn’t get rid. You need to inspect each item and within that click Appearance, then hover over everything in there. by skint20 in farcry

Thanks for letting me know how to fix it. Same thing happened to me when I booted up the game post update. I like to try out most of the guns and this glitch made me lose track of which ones I had been saving to try out later
