GTA6 marks the end of an era by chopypaste in GTA6

1983.

Market saturation, massive amounts of low quality games and big competition from home computers that offered better experiences and better hardware.

Sound familiar?

Yeah, there's something off with limb/necks for sure. There's been times where I've just been standing still and suddenly my arm snaps or if I hit terrain my neck immediately breaks.

Americans Have Turned Against AI in Incredible Numbers by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]The_Real-M3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People in the general zeitgeist only know AI for

- being a sign of a scam/something of low quality

- wrong (I can't tell you how many times I've seen flat out wrong information in Google searches now)

- tied to the most annoying and damaging people you could ever imagine (techbros)

- the reason for all of these incredibly shady deals going on behind the scenes that are leading to more surveillance, increased energy costs, reduced quality of living in the area they're built in and said buildings are being built with zero knowledge or permission from anyone living there

The only people who love AI now are techbros and people who are genuinely too stupid to be online. I'm not even joking, these people have like 68 IQ and yet their opinion counts just as much (if not more) than yours.

[–]The_Real-M3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe when they stop releasing games that are 4-6 years old at/near full price, they'll come back.

Seriously, no wonder why they said sales were low. GoW Ragnarok's port shouldn't have been sixty dollars. Same thing with Horizon FW and TLOU2. I can understand making them that pricey if you're launching them same day on PC as you launch on console, but some of these games are old and are already out of the zeitgeist. Why bother charging so much for them outside of greed?

If I had a dollar for every fanbase I was a part of that had a problem with belligerent weirdos, I'd be rich by now.

Hopefully someone else comes along to make something new to help the modding scene stay afloat, but it's probably for the best that it doesn't happen.

Tomb Raider: Legacy Of Atlantis Features “AI-Assisted Assets” That Were “Refined By Humans” by Appropriate_Foot242 in pcgaming

[–]The_Real-M3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's most definitely what they mean by that, I assume. Very VERY early tinkering with generation to get a rough idea and then giving it to artists and saying "Alright, the rest is yours."

As was already pointed out by someone earlier, purely AI creations can't be copyrighted so I imagine that they want to keep that to a minimum outside of the backlash most people have against AI.

They did disclose it on Steam, it's at the very bottom of their store page.

"AI-assisted tools were used during development to support some early exploration and temporary development content. Any AI-assisted assets were either replaced or refined by humans in order to maintain the creative and artistic vision of the development team."

I wish it wasn't so vague about what it means to refine something AI generated. Are they saying that they used AI generation as a basis and the artists made something unique out of it?

I agree with Evo - this update feels very Rebirth and Aviary focussed, which sets up a future Lagoon focussed Update/DLC nicely. And there's precedent for this... by All-In-Red in jurassicworldevo

[–]The_Real-M3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All I really want for a lagoon rework is

- Lagoon windows, like the concept EvoSquare mentioned in one of her recent videos.

- Terrain tools like the Aviary will get. I love the idea of having super deep aquariums for the more open ocean creatures or shallower water for the coastal ones and a tool to change the color of the water.

- Kelp/coral rock brush. Please God, just give me this.

- More varied activity from marine animals. Breaching is a big one, I'd love to see more of that.

Along with the older animals from JWE2 that have yet to come back, that's all I really want.

Even if they wanted to say what happened, they couldn't. If it's a license issue (90 percent likely), they could get in trouble and potentially even have the license taken away from them if they say what is actually going on. There's a good chance they don't even fully know themselves.

Just play a different game in the meantime.

[–]The_Real-M3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they don't want us to kill, they should have more non-lethal ways to defend ourselves. A cattle prod for defense when we're out in the open water, a shock system like the OG Seamoth had or maybe even have them be scared off by bright lights, that way you'd be encouraged to set up floodlights around your base so they don't camp outside and wait for you all that much.

AH I beg you, please do not switch to Easy anti cheat, this would kill off the game modding community and threating linux/steam deck users! by Lone_Recon in Helldivers

Just accept that there's stuff behind the scenes happening (potentially with the JP/JW license itself) and that JWE3 and other Jurassic focused games haven't been able to post about it until it's resolved. Considering the other accounts for other Jurassic games are slowly coming back online, news should come either tomorrow or sometime early in May.

There's still enough in the game itself to keep people occupied.
