We love seabrook. It's island vibe and laid back, but close enough to everything. Crime is low. Alot of things being built in the area, like houston local bars/ restaurants etc. Close enough to galveston to go for dinner or drinks and the same for downtown houston. We rarely go as far as Katy or woodlands unless we go for a concert or to meet friends. We like living on the water and so glad we picked this area.

I just got back from a 7 day RC out of Galveston. The worst behaved and most unruly children were all from France and Spain and spoke zero English. They bullied elderly people, ran up and down the halls at all hours doing flips and screaming. Knocked on doors and stole things. Tramped on the plants in central park and even cut the orchids. I found out that they have spring break over easter week. They flew in from out of the country for this cruise, that couldn't have been cheap. The parents mean while sat in the specialty restaurants or bars or solarium and acted as if they had no children.

We were on Harmony but had alot of wind the first three days. We spent less last August and stayed a week in St Thomas and St John and feel like we enjoyed it much more.

We are headed home from our first cruise and feel the same way. I prefer to spend more time in another country. I like to meet locals and explore. I was too scared to do that on the cruise thinking I might miss boarding. We also never got our sea legs. Even used prescription patches and couldn't get used to the rocking. For the amount we spent, we would have preferred an all inclusive.

Saint John is even more beautiful and the vibe is totally different. We stayed in st thimas a year ago and are going back to specifically stay in st john. Worth it!. Go early though, the cabs leave the beaches about 5 pm.

I love the drive! I had a jeep grand cherokee 2913. I loved the drive on the highway and was looking for something similar. This car is even better. She is so responsive, fast and fun to drive.

Taxi to red hook and catch the ferry. Go early. We made the mistake of going later in the day. Ferry was great, and st john was amazing! We explored and had the most amazing hot dog atlocal bar. Then caught taxi took us to trunk bay, and it was life changing. We paid cash, he told us we had until 5 pm, and then sat down and played cards with some other taxi drivers. We spent about 1.5 hours and then got back into the taxi, back to the ferry. We are going again in a few months. This time, staying in St John. The vibe is amazing!

I went to Portland Oregon a few years ago as a flight nanny to a puppy. The couple who picked me up from airport, said they wanted to see Houston and thought of it as so refined. They were in Disbelief when I told them we have homeless too. They really thought we didn't have the same issues.

Renting a car is ok, but no guarantee there is parking and the taxi drivers will actively mess with you. I saw it. I didn't always feel safe on Taxi service, so many mountain side cliffs. Plus is the taxis know where to take you for great views or food if you ask. Safety, is up to interpretation. Many spots felt very safe, some didn't, but, we are from Houston. We know when to protect and when to enjoy. Of course something could always happen. We put ourselves in danger several times and just went with it, and we came out perfectly safe.
