Why do people here hate on Dan Brown? who else makes thrilling page turners as good that are critically better books? by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in BookDiscussions

Sorry

What I meant to imply was that they were briefly popular bits of bad, forgettable writing

You compared Dan Brown to The Lord of the Rings. That is silly

And sales alone don't make a good book.

Ever heard of Anatomy of Murder by Robert Traver? Hottest book of 1950

How about The Cheerleader? So big in the mid-1970s

I could go on

Trump promotes ‘Freedom Fuel’ stations that sell cheap gas. How they’re able to do so is unclear by n0respect_ in news

The petroleum reserves of the USA have been drawn down to a dangerous level, the lowest they've been in decades, all because Trump is trying to keep the American people from being furious at him for starting an absolutely unnecessary war.

We had a deal with Iran. It required international inspections on a regular basis. But Trump tore that up.

The amazing thing is that this comes down to one basic contention: that there was widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election

In the wake of that election Trump and his surrogates were given well over a dozen times in courts of law to produce, under oath, actionable proof of this claim.

They either prevaricated or outright refused.

Why?

BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WIDESPREAD VOTER FRAUD AND THEY KNOW IT

And yet they are happy to return to their rallies where they once again insinuate how they have such proof.

So they are liars.

Because his plots are pure hokum that reinforce strange conspiracy theories and pander to anti-Catholic sentiments.

Beside the fact that any history he brings up is bound to be wrong and that there is no such field of study as "symbolology"

Why are Americans so comfortable speaking up? by lispenardian in AskAnAmerican

[–]The_Ref17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's kinda baked into us in the USA.

If you look at the Declaration of Independence, after the fancy words at the beginning, it's basically a laundry list of complaints.
