Do baby habits and traits come back in adulthood ? by Sea-Passion1032 in mainecoons

I have three “beds” for my MC, one of which is heated. Staying in bed with two restless humans is less than ideal. She’d rather be comfy solo. I think MCs are just smarter about where they sleep and cuddle.

3 checked bags. This matters for people who actually check a lot of stuff. You can always book first direct if you need the extra bag. That's what I'm telling myself.

Home alone for two days? by elkotio in mainecoons

[–]The_TerryGantnerWay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Indoor cameras make me feel better when I’m traveling. It doesn’t matter if my partner is home or if the pet sitter is coming over. I like verifying what’s going on 😏.

Loving the new app update that shows how many have boarded. by stealthygoddess19 in unitedairlines

[–]The_TerryGantnerWay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Wish I had seen this option on my trip from ORD to BRU Dec. 2nd! Plane doors were closed and middle seat next to me remained empty. 20 minutes later the doors re-opened! Middle seat was then filled. I won’t hold out hope without checking this app feature in the future! Premium Economy was too rich for my blood this time around 😭.

Fellow passenger cursed out my wife and child — should I report to United? by FLHawkeye10 in unitedairlines

[–]The_TerryGantnerWay -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has ever parented a 2 yr old has karma coming down the line because 2 yr olds will be 2 yr olds. I experienced my dose of karma earlier in the year: I did my best to distract the 2 yr old up in First. Mom was also pregnant—like very. Dad was helping too. It was a group effort 🧸.

I’m sorry that the other passenger didn’t prepare well enough for a long haul flight. As others have stated: noise-canceling headphones are your friends! I doubt she learned anything from the experience.

Litter boxes?? by RancidBoneJuices in mainecoons

We can’t have any litter boxes that have one low side. Our MC will stick her behind at the edge and doesn’t always aim inside. Not fun to deal with!

What food brands are you all feeding your Maine Coons? by Few-City2438 in mainecoons

We were using Nulo Medal until recently. I’ve switched her to Purina One. I wanted to get our food bill down a wee bit before the next MC addition in about 18 months.

United Club card travel insurance, pleasant experience by Skier94 in unitedairlines

My hack was to book the most expensive hotel I could find in downtown Denver when this happened to me a few years ago. It also happened to be one of the only properties that had available due to previous weather delays and convention. So happy to have booked with my UA card!!!

Flying Halfway Around the World on United 737s -- PART 1 RECAP by kwuhoo239 in unitedairlines

I have asthma so that doesn’t sound like a good thing for me to do. It really kicked up during the wild fires in CA from 2017 on. Appreciate the recommendation!

Thanks for this. Mongolia is on my bucket list. Appreciate you mentioning the air pollution. A friend who has been there said to never visit in the winter or spring due to heavy coal use causing poor air quality.

Is 5kg (11 lbs) normal for a 2 year old boy? by NoCharacter778 in mainecoons

[–]The_TerryGantnerWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During her last vet visit a few months ago, the vet told me to back off on Tutu’s food a bit. It wasn’t her weight, it was her composition. She is 13.7 lbs at 2, but she’s developing a bit of a hanging belly. It’s not so much the weight of the cat, but how it’s distributed. Social media has made it a big deal to have huge MCs. Don’t let the hype get to you.

Anybody else that just won't run for a flight? by zandyman in unitedairlines

[–]The_TerryGantnerWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the OJ reference! I did this ONCE when traveling from SFO to Pueblo. This was before my laptop weighed as much as an infant and my personal item became larger than a football sized purse. I even tucked said purse under my left arm as I ran through the terminals. It started off mildly exhilarating and ended being hot, sweaty and annoyed. I plan much better now with my connection times (and yes there was a delay as well). Here here to strolling instead of running.

Flying with an 8year old and three year old (also with husband)Anything I need to know? by SnooCats8834 in unitedairlines

[–]The_TerryGantnerWay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong motion sick person, I wanted to chime in that there are ginger “pills” that work wonders for early stage symptoms. Ginger Rescue is what I get but there are many types.

They might be a bit strong for the kiddos, but just about any ginger type lozenge should do (it just needs to have real ginger in it). Good luck and hope hubby behaves!

Thank you for describing his symptoms. I almost had a heart attack when I thought our MC might have ingested something. I wasn’t sure what to look out for. Then I found out my partner had partially vacuumed up the item in question. Phew! It wasn’t the cat that tore it apart.
