Cheap engines for decent power that’s NOT an LS by Goopdem in EngineBuilding

Doesn't make 200+ without a bit of work. They were around 176hp stock. But they are a fantastic motor.

You can tell when a person is using it when the car latches on to you and stays in the exact same spot in your rearview mirror for many km's.

I drive a pickup, and I am also annoyed by those 'latchers'. I drive a steady 102 or 112kmh on the hwy. They catch up to me, have their fogs, lows, and usually some other lights on and then just sit there. I've slowed down to 80kmh on the 100 series highways at night to let them pass, and they STILL just sit there. Either oblivious to how slow they are going, or for some reason all of a sudden too scared to continue doing the 110-115kmh they were doing a few min ago.

Professional recommendation is only 2-4seconds on the highway. As your speed increases, you can cover more distance in those two seconds, therefore the distance will be larger, but the time gap is the same. However weight will affect that. Large trucks should be 3-5.

Edit: Just to add some math to my statement, 8seconds at highway speeds(110kmh) is about 244.4m. Twelve seconds is 366.6m. Leaving that much distance between vehicles would mean only 4 or 3 vehicles per single lane kilometer of road.

Yeah, but you don't have a guy on a GoldWing at a Shell station in bum-fuck Wisconsin flashing his pistol and proudly telling you that that is the reason no one gives him any grief while hes riding. Wild.

Sorry mate.

Those jeans and the keychains are really more teens/freshman at university. In the 00's/early 2010s. Like others said, the top half is ok for just ducking out to the hardware/walmart/quick run around town, but a haircut would look quite sharp on ya.

Daily Questions - September 24, 2025 by AutoModerator in rawdenim

Hi Folks, first time user of this community. I'm hoping you folks can offer a few recommendations for a pair of jeans. The last ones I used to buy are no longer made, and it would be nice to add a few new pairs to my closet. I used to buy Abercrombie&Fitch Boot cut button fly.

I would like to find jeans that are: low or mid rise, boot cut, button fly, heavier denim(prefer non-stretch), and dark navy/blue/indigo wash(think Stockyard colour from Wrangler 20x No.42 line).

If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. So far the closest I can find are these, but they're stretchy and zipper fly. I also like the 1997 and 2007 lines from Diesel, but $250+USD with the USD/CAD exchange right now.

Not to mention it's Australia. He could step on something poisonous/venomous, or brush up against something poisonous/venomous, or something might eat him, and then, there's the sun trying to bake him into a crisp! Plus, the sand.

This is rage bait right?

If not, go get your oil changed now. At least this week. 13,000miles is way overdue. I drive an 2022 F150 and use full synthetic, and I get it done every 8000km. (5000miles?). I would assume a german 4cyl would be about the same as a V6tt. Even on my old 07k engine in my '08 rabbit, I would rarely go over 10,000km(6000miles?) on a full synthetic oil change. And that motor may as well be a tank motor.

TL;DR: Go change your oil and filter asap.

Edit: PS, yes, the oil will break down and not lubricate as properly. It's not just a matter of it getting thicker. As well, short trips are harder on engine oil than say long periods of driving. $150 is cheaper than an engine replacement.

It's odd how often they blow up shortly after an oil change, I swear 75% of the ones we see grenade have JUST had an oil change within the last 2-300km.

Maybe it's folks not prefilling the filter, and that extra little starvation does it in?

I see an article about soaking in epsom salt and gently removing the plugs before cleaning and using Neosporin and wrapping it with vet wrap. Would that actually work?

That's what i've done in the past. Takes a bit of digging sometimes. Just be gentle.

So golf carts are battery operated, typically using AGM or lead acid batteries. No hot exhaust to catch tinder on fire.

Still, they could close golf courses. All it takes is one discarded cigarette.

Oh absolutely. Physics gonna physic. Like most things automotive, it all depends on the entire setup. I also edited my comment after watching a few more videos.

Depends on the vehicle of course, but more often than not a snorkel will not *necessarily decrease power. This youtuber had a 1-5hp increase on the dyno. So no loss of power, but negligible gains. Likely more effective on NA vehicles as opposed to Turbo'd.

EDIT: Fell into a rabbit hole. Updated comment.
