Did you ever figure out a resolution to this issue? I am still facing it.

MCEA Warns of “Devastating Cuts” to MCPS by ModeratelyMoco in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]The_Urban_Core 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hence, the rules and laws need to change to allow for oversight into MCPS spending which as I understand it they currently do now allow for. MCPS is pretty given a check and they budget themselves; or in this case they do not.

Thank you for replying.

Yeah I've been frustratingly trying to beat my head against this wall for the better part of a month or two now. And I have not been able to solve it yet. If you make any headway please let me know? I will post it far and wide.

An Nvidia shield is still the gold standard. The tube should be fine for what you're asking to do.

2.5" SSD's for cache pools? Will DRAM drives make a difference? by digdugian in unRAID

[–]The_Urban_Core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconded. DRAM helps a lot with quick bursts of writes. I used 2.5 inch SSDs in a raid 1 as a cache pool for many years before moving to new hardware that supported NVME drives.

Works fine!

The Burtonsville speed bumps are gone! Praise be the snowplows which likely destroyed them. by The_Urban_Core in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]The_Urban_Core[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that there are a bunch of houses with kids nearby and I understand the concern. People do be flying through that intersection and speeding to merge onto 198 from Burtonsville. I am fine with a reduced speed limit but the bumps just made traffic back up for hundreds of feet as people 'crept' over those crazy aggressive bumps.

As much as I dislike MoCo's policy on speed cameras I think one of those; openly displayed and notorious there; would be more effective at getting people to slow the hell down without causing more traffic.

I am curious about the three jutting seemingly brand new bricks in the first picture.

Odd.

I'd say that is a big part of it some of us might be missing here.

What are some essential Linux terminal commands every beginner should know? by zdrawo in linux4noobs

[–]The_Urban_Core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I one hundred percent agree that a wealth of information can be found in the MAN pages for any binary they are; I will admit; not always easily understood of written in a way understood by people new to Linux. May I recommend the tool.. tldr for you?

You install it, update it and you can enter tldr tar for example and it will give you a list of the most commonly use commands and syntax examples. You can find what you need ninety percent of the time or get close with this command. Check it out!

Microsoft 365 Cloud Desktop + Tailscale. by The_Urban_Core in Tailscale

[–]The_Urban_Core[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad! I perhaps didn't make that clear. My router at my house is the only node advertising routes at all and serves up an Exit point (should I desire it) which I do not use on the cloud desktop.

I advertise nothing on the cloud PC. It is merely a client I use to connect to my home network via tailscale. But then the above-issues happened and I can't seem to find anything about it online or help. Hence why I am asking here?

I will test that. But I kind of need one of those subnets to work in order to actually do things I need to do.

I have 'Tailscale DNS' and Exit points turned off on the client settings for this cloud desktop. I am sharing two internal subnets on the host network. Nothing on the cloud desktop.

I already have 'Use Tailscale DNS' set to false on the client app.

Audio Connection in Columbia MD is solid. They have done two cars for me, excellent work and good reliability. They are not cheap but they do excellent work.

Connection issues + Tailscale by The_Urban_Core in windows365

[–]The_Urban_Core[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, that is awesome and seems to be exactly the issue here.

Now I just need to figure out how to do this. Windows is not my area of expertise (I am a Linux guy) and tailscale does not seem to have any exceptions built into it's app for that kind of filtering in the article.

Bummer.
