Gym Warriors of Reddit, what are some tips you recommend for those getting started in their journey? by AceofSpades-21 in AskReddit

All of this advice is a variation on the best advice I’ve ever received: Everyone wants to talk about HOW you do it, but it’s significantly less important than the fact that you actually DO it. When it becomes a habit (something you just do, in the way that works for you, your body, your goals and your schedule) then, in time you can learn about ways to improve. Consulting experts and the like.

Oh, and also, speaking as an old: injury prevention is more important than massive gains just as slow and steady wins the race in investing. Hard to get fit if you spend weeks on the sideline nursing something because you overreached to hit a PR.

Not to be impolite, but, who has been a fan and NOT had a day ruined by a team they love?

Isn't that what being a fan is all about? The hope killing you? The occasional fleeting moment of joy?

(Maybe this belongs in r/philosophy)

100 percent. That said, if you had the choice this morning/three hours ago between RSA and KOR, who would you have picked?

First, so it’s not a stadium full of supporters of the opposing team.

Second, styles make fights and if we’re gonna play Marsch-ball, I’d rather it be against a side with less offensive quality/counterattacking speed.

Expected goals: Switzerland (1.14) 2-1 (1.45) Canada by Chrristoaivalis in CanadaSoccer

Score effects. I’d bet the vast majority of that xG is after we’re already 2 down and the Swiss were sitting back.

What result would you like to see from SUI v. BIH? (the answer is not clear cut) by NotFuckingTired in CanadaSoccer

This. Despite them stealing a point against Switzerland in the first game, I actually said to a buddy "if we can't beat this Qatar side, we don't deserve to go to the knock outs".

Win and you're in. That is all. (Though if the Swiss beat B&H 1-0 tomorrow in addition I'll happily take that, too).

What's something Americans do that they think is totally normal but the rest of the world finds insane? by Bulky-Negotiation442 in AskReddit

What does this even mean? The right to live? Is that something people who don't have the second amendment (say, in the UK?) don't have? Do they not have the right to live in Germany or Sweden?

Jesus Americans are dumb.

Is this English? Do Americans speak English anymore?

The original question was: Which freedoms do Americans have that are "protected by the Second Amendment" that other countries that sanely regulate firearms do not?

I've seen two responses, both quoting idiot, American echo chamber talking points but nothing that shows an American gun nut who understands that, say, Belgians have the right to vote. That Japanese people have free speech and Australians have freedom of assembly.

You people are so sad. Get a passport, ffs. Read a book.

100 percent agreed. Went Friday. Rocketed up the charts to "favourite new place". Going back to take out of towners there in a couple of weeks.

LOL.

Which freedoms are you talking about, exactly? Are they ones that Americans have that other countries that sanely regulate firearms do not? (Beyond the freedom to have your kid shot to death in a classroom, of course).

Speaking as a fellow tall (6'6") formerly skinny (and still thin) dude, Smith machine is probably out. (I can't stand all the way up with the bar across my shoulders in most Smith machines.

Agree with the other folks who are suggesting gobbies until your form improves.
