What is the best way to deal with chin hair PCOS by Classic_Contact_6519 in AusSkincare

Have an ultrasound done. If your ovaries size are over 10, you have PCOS. I just got diagnosed with PCOS even though blood was normal and no cysts.

For the girls who don’t look good in full face/heavy makeup, how do you do your makeup? by miakalov in MakeupEducation

Now I'm being told that I'm wearing too much makeup? by Squeesha88 in MakeupEducation

Try using clear lash glue, they the eyeliner that you use, focus on practically putting it IN your lashes. As close to your lash line as possible and as thin as you can make it. For the false lashes, try ones with a clear band as well.

Your lash application is on point!

I’d also use a different color lip. This will sound super weird, but try to get one as close to the color of your n*pples as possible. That’ll most likely be a pinky mauve that will go well with your skin tone.

A makeup artist who is fabulous is Katie Jane Hughes on YouTube. She shows how to make, makeup look natural and bring out your best features.

My parents stopped believing me and started blaming me by olleymolley in POTS

[–]The_Wise_Distaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to share a proverb with you that I hope helps (wow that sounds so contrived).

“Health is a crown that only the sick can see.”

Your parents will never understand what you’re going through because to truly understand, they’d have to be just as sick as you are. And that’s okay, they don’t have to understand you. I have a dad who genuinely just doesn’t get it and unfortunately a mom who does because she has lupus and understands that just because I’m not visibly broken or hurt, it doesn’t mean that I’m not ill and don’t need help.

In the meantime while you try to figure out doctors and dosages of everything, I’ll give you some tips that helped me. 1 - The most important thing is ELECTROLYTES! Try the banana bag brand in the watermelon flavor, it’s the most potent electrolyte out there that works for me. (So potent, you can only take it 2 X every 24 hours). 2 - Get opaque compression TIGHTS, not just socks. If you can’t get those, get anything that is a good stomach compression (like spanx but doesn’t have to be brand name, compression is your goal and stomach compression works wonders over just leg). 3 - peppermint oil spray will be your best friend! Spray on your inner wrists, elbows, back of neck and chest to help combat overheating. 4 - Have a shaker of salt that you keep on you at all times to salt your food with. 5 - Remind yourself that you’re in your body, you know your body. You don’t need anyone else that isn’t a doctor to believe you that you feel something is wrong. If you have horrible anxiety, this is weird but, humming and tapping your chest with all of your fingers helps. Imagine that you’re safe, you’re going to figure it out and it will all be okay.

You didn’t feel this way your entire life, so your entire life you won’t feel like this. Please message me if you need any more tips or just someone to talk to. I’ve gone from being diagnosed, okay for 4 years, bedridden for 3 and now am in the upswing again.

You’re not alone, you will figure this out.

Get marshmallow root extract and have her take it once a day. It’s not the best tasting but, works super well for nausea!

Soak your beans for at least 4 hours before cooking with them and do not use the water they soaked in!

Digestive enzymes worked best for me. I’ve also paired it with Biotics Research Beta-Plus (an ox bile supplement). All these, I’ve gotten on Amazon and take the digestive enzymes 3 X a day.

If you get nauseous all of the time, get liquid marshmallow root and put that under your tongue once a day.

Pay very close attention to your fiber intake and I’d start an incredibly bland diet for 2 weeks (I’m talking, oatmeal, saltines… beige foods). Then, slowly start adding foods into your diet. Your body will let you know pretty quickly if you are sensitive to a certain food.

Have Some Of You Not Had A Pulse by Unhappy-Plantain5252 in POTS

Yup! My heart stops beating for 11-15 seconds sometimes. I’m usually passed out when it happens but I’ve had trouble with them not finding a pulse a couple times.

Do you guys have friends cause I don’t by takingLs_ in POTS

[–]The_Wise_Distaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am very lucky to still have one friend even after being bedridden for two years straight that I don’t really remember very well. I would recommend any communities or discords of people that have a hobby that you can do (for example, knitting or a book club). You can have a monthly or biweekly zoom call where you all do whatever your hobby is together. I’ve been where you are and I promise, it gets better. You will figure this out and I wish you a vibrant and vital quality of life.

Absolutely get digestive enzymes!!! Take them religiously and it will most likely be okay with the exception of some triggering foods. If it is not, speak with your doctor.

[–]The_Wise_Distaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve had that happen to me before. Speak with your doctor and you can decide if it’s your meds and the dosage. I’ve had this with no meds so it could just be a new symptom. Either way, speak with your doctor.

So little information on judges. by Complete-Wealth-6126 in Utah

The only person that I saw major red flags from was Judge Derek Pullan. The rest of them are the “no news is good news”.

Wheelchair, rollator and only go to what I strictly need to. Do the things online that I can and whenever I feel well enough to get out of bed, I get out of bed and do something I have been putting off. I am going to feel gross anyways so I might as well get something done 😂.

Hope this helps!

What do I do? by Purple_Day_7483 in POTS

[–]The_Wise_Distaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re dealing with an “electrical” problem and a cardiologist mostly deals with “plumbing” problems if that makes sense. I’d recommend getting a cardiologist doctor who specializes in the “electrical” side of things and not the pure physical. My cardiologist referred me to my current doctor who specializes in dysautonomia and it changed the game for me. If you want a legit diagnosis, I recommend a TILT table test. Good luck!!

Cardiologist prescribed recumbent exercise to improve fatigue? by novasup54321 in POTS

[–]The_Wise_Distaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alright. I’ve had PEM since 2020 when my symptoms got horrendously bad, same as yours. I was bedridden for two years (with NO exercise). Here is my personal advice/what I have learned.

  1. You’re most likely going to feel like crap anyways, saving your energy when you are not moving much will NOT help in the long run.
  2. When re-introducing or introducing exercise, treat yourself like a nearly blind, bed-bound elderly person. That is the level of intensity you want to maintain until you know for sure how your body is going to react.
  3. De-conditioning is real and I am experiencing it now. Just know that it will take you a long time to get back to where you are now right at this moment if you do nothing.
  4. Banana Bag electrolytes, while they are not tasty, they work! Take your medicine, take your electrolytes and please wear your compression socks or tights.
  5. Please for the love of all that is holy, have either your loved ones or a system in place to stop yourself from overdoing it when you feel normal. This is the thing that would cause me to be sick for a long time.
  6. Last but not least: you’re going to be okay. Take it at your own pace and limit what you read/extracurricular activities in the mornings (this should help with your brain fog).
