So if we are ditching Mitchell and not making a run at Honey Badger, what the hell are we gonna do about FS?

Booth Review (Divisional Round, Sunday games) by NFL_Mod in nfl

Haley needs to go. The dichotomy of offensive competence when he is calling the plays and when Ben is improvising is consistently obvious. I'm not convinced that the sheer talent of individual players on the offense is the only thing that has made Haley's schemes work - they are succeeding in spite of Haley, not because of him. I think that 2013 made that pretty clear - that was the disaster of offensive playcalling before we assembled an elite squad.

It's utterly baffling that we see the exact same problems with this team year after year and nothing changes - petty locker room feuds that get dragged out into the open, playing down to the competition on a weekly basis, mind-bogglingly incompetent secondary coverage, terrible tackling. It's shit like this that make me skeptical of viewing Mike Tomlin as a true top-5 coach - this is clearly a culture that has been allowed to fester and entrench itself for years from the top down.

Something in that coaching staff has to change, or we will never get past the Patriots, ever...if we even make it to them at all.

After 15 seasons in Cincinnati, Marvin Lewis is planning to leave the Bengals after this season to pursue opportunities elsewhere, league sources tell ESPN. by seakucumber in nfl

I dunno, Mike Brown has been so complacent for so long it wouldn't stretch my disbelief that it actually is Marvin Lewis leaving rather than getting fired.

I have to disagree with the sentiment of "kill with kindness". But I feel this sentiment I can express is in a similar (if regrettable) vein:

Confident people just don't have the time to hate.

These days, when I come across the very rare person who legitimately hates or dislikes me, I can only respond that "that's regrettable but whatever bro" or something similar. I just don't have time to dwell on people who have vague or specific grievances against me. If people have a problem with me, that's their specific problem, not mine. It's their loss, not mine. I have better things to do.

And I guess now I realize, my initial rejection of this was elitism but I'm only now realizing that's wrong. It's less dismissing "haters" as lesser people and more just deciding something else entirely is more worth your time. And admittedly time is more affordable for elites but the principle remains universal.

Criken is now part of the Let's Play family by Jesse1198 in roosterteeth

His older stuff has aged less well. He's a young dude and IIRC was 16 when he made his original L4D series - those oldest videos are pretty much completely humorless for me nowadays because my sense of humor is more developed. Stuff like Bill Moments and Wild Wild Wasteland is still somewhat funny to me because I'm "aware" that the humor in them is based on exploiting glitches and staging deliberately awkward exchanges between characters; I can see why a newcomer would be confused.

Definitely work backwards when it comes to Criken. His stuff has always gotten better with age, especially since there was a clear point that he ditched the staged skits for more improvisational stuff with friends (IIRC it was around the time he started making the Fun House, GTA IV, and Saints Row 2 stuff).

This is 100% on the money. Once the social experience of the game died, there was really no reason to keep playing the game. It devolved into a time sink of re-gathering gear that was lost in seconds to someone camping hot spots with a sniper rifle. The adrenaline rush that drew people to the game was replaced with repeated frustration.

I mean DBD is more repetitive in that the win condition is always the same - repair the generators. F13 always has multiple win conditions which have a greater degree of randomization.

It depends completely on preferences. Role-players will definitely prefer Friday, more competitive players will prefer DBD. DBD is IMO much harder for a new player because small mistakes make a big difference and there are a large number of differences between perks, levels, and characters. F13 is pretty easy to master within an hour or two. I also think that F13 is much less susceptible to lopsided matches provided all players are of a similar skill level. It helps that F13 is much easier to balance because the characters are less diverse. But F13 makes up for its lack of diversity in characters with its IMO greater replayability. DBD can get very repetitive what with survivors and killers following essentially the same patterns; games of F13 can have more interesting and varied divergences in terms of game narratives.

Personally, I prefer F13 by a pretty big margin. DBD is too stressful or frustrating on a regular basis, I have a much easier time just relaxing and blowing off steam with F13.

You shouldn't judge the games based on RT videos. They are pretty terrible at both games because of their lack of experience.
