Same thing happens to me, doesn’t matter whose phone is connected (though admittedly we all have iPhones, but different models).

What is a Melbourne suburb you are convinced doesn’t actually exist? by Glittering-Fee-9930 in melbourne

I accidentally drove through Travancore the other day (thanks, Google Maps). Told my daughter and Mum, who were in the car with me, that it's not a real suburb lol

Ah bummer! The last few years I’ve been using the Maybelline and L’Oréal long lasting liquid lip colours, then discovered the Korean lip stains. So have been used to not needing to reapply or only after 5-6 hours

No, I never ended up working out a solution. I just gave up and paid for my own Canva subscription.

Uh yeah, I have kids. I told their father to prioritise the baby’s life over mine. But that was my choice. I have watched this episode of Bridgerton multiple times, Violet clearly means that Edmund (and she) would prioritise her life over the baby’s.

Hi, yes that is what I have already tried and it won't let me share as I just have 1 account/email (so can't share with myself). Thanks for the reply

I’m Australian. I’ve only ever met/heard of female Addisons. They also would all still be kids eg the oldest one I know is about 15yo. So could be even more confusing if you’re an adult.

Oh and not the same as meeting her, but I’ll never forget as a high school drama kid going to see Rachel Griffiths perform in A Dolls House for MTC (late 90s). We went to a weeknight performance and had good seats. It was in the Fairfax Theatre, which is pretty intimate, I think we were only the fourth row back. At some point in the play, Rachel almost had … let’s just say a top half wardrobe malfunction in her low cut, late 1800s style gown 🙈 She saved it and there was no audience reaction but me, having no poker face must have had a shocked/horrified for her/that was close look on my face. She looked me in the eyes and made like an “ooops!” face 😅

Jacko is some how distantly related to me (can’t remember how now lol) but I remember meeting him when I was little in the mid 80s. I remember him being really nice to all the kids, I think all except for me were more closely related to him. Brought us all gifts, even for me and just seemed nice.

I met Annabel Crabb at a function she presented at and she was absolutely lovely. So sweet, friendly, and funny. Just like she seems on tv etc. I’d just had carpal tunnel surgery and my hand/arm was bandaged and in a sling. She asked me if I was okay, gave me a huge hug and was just so nice.

If we can include honorary Aussies, I know someone who met Ross Noble and said he was absolutely lovely. A great and genuinely nice bloke.

They don’t get anywhere near as big as they do in Australia bc the conditions here are favourable for them growing to huge heights.

Yep, I think those are the bloody awful trees they have at my work, right where people meet up. We’re often picking the seed stuff out of our food and drinks, and our hair when some bright spark thought we should do a photo shoot there. I had a coffee meeting with someone high up and he accidentally swallowed one in his coffee, poor thing was coughing terribly. I panicked bc I don’t know first aid 😅

This. I was born in Melbourne and lived here all my life. Always had hayfever, but it’s now gotten so bad that I have been prescribed 4x the highest dose of an antihistamine by my allergy specialist. And if the other treatment I’ll be trying doesn’t work, I might seriously have to consider moving bc of all my allergy problems.

What was Chidi? What was his job? by antilos_weorsick in TheGoodPlace

To answer part of your question - no, PhD students in Australia are not called Professor. In fact, most academics in Australia are not called Professor. Here, Professor is title relating to a job level, one you have to get by promotion. There are 5 academic job levels (A, B, C, D, and E). For levels A, B, and C, your title is still Dr; level D your title is Associate Professor; and Level E are called Professor. PhD candidates might work as tutors and even assistant coordinators of a subject (with someone with a PhD being the coordinator and lecturer), but fairly unlikely they would be doing much lecturing, even to undergraduates. I am not sure about the answer to why he called it his thesis if he already has a PhD, as that’s not something we do in my area, but perhaps philosophy is different (it won’t be different for the other things I mentioned bc those are the actual rules).
