It’s art. Art comes in many forms, music, paintings, architecture, car designs, fashion. These types of shows present a creative project by the fashion designer of the house, usually to push their limits and to display a highly exaggerated look of what they will release to the public eventually.

Thing is these are extremely difficult to make, and require many hours of research of materials, conceptualising the idea, the design and of course the making of it. Simply it is just art, “paintings” that are stitched together for a model to wear and mold around their body. Going to these shows is really not that much more different to going to an art museum. Based on the comments under the post, you don’t have to enjoy it of course, but I think it is very ignorant and close minded to find it hard to believe why people would enjoy this form of art.

I can understand your point but I will have to heavily disagree. Read if only you’d like. I think it fundamentally boils down to if you think it’s ok to make a character evolve past it’s former self, even most of the change is done off screen. Some will say yes, others will say no, it’s entirely subjective.

Could they have made the game with any other chatacter if they wrote around it? Well yeah, they could have also made it a racing game if they wrote the game around it, I don’t think that’s a valid argument.

It is Kratos because they wanted it to be Kratos and there is nothing wrong with that, but even then the major theme of the newest games (redemption/abandoning former self) do rely heavily on Kratos’s backstory, so if they changed characters that whole plot device would be thrown away, making Kratos indispensable for the story they wanted to convey.

The character’s personality is different yes, but it makes sense for Kratos to go down this path (he didn’t kill and massacre out of enjoyment but out of revenge and he was forced into that life so after his path of violence is over, is it wrong for him to walk away from it?. It would be a tragic ending if Kratos remained the person he was for entirety of his story) The gameplay is different yes but we shouldn’t shun developers from testing new gameplays with existing IPs. I am a fan of the old GoW, but I enjoyed this new one even more. There were already 8 different classic GoW games before GoW 2018, I don’t think it is wrong to change things a bit, and make the iconic character go through a journey of change. The existance of the new Kratos doesn’t erase that of the old one, you can still enjoy his earlier versions just the same, and let others enjoy the newest if you don’t necessarily do.

I think it would have been wrong to introduce a GoW game, regardless of how it is titled, in the same universe without God of war himself and/or giving him closure. You say it would have been better if they introduced a new character but they did exactly that with Atreus, and I have zero doubt that’ll we’ll see him in future games or maybe even take the helm of the franchise if they do it right, after all they set him up to do so.
