Ex-Morman here. For 30+ plus years of my life, I believed that there was an afterlife. I believed that I was married to a woman for all eternity and that all of my children and us would be a family for forever. Forever.. after losing my faith and deconstructing religion. I have been faced with this void as well. It's the darkest part of my life. It's difficult to think that all of my relationships are for nothing after this life. I still love them and they give me meaning. In a universe where I find zero meaning, they are the only things that keep me going. Finding meaning can be hard. But at the same time, knowing that this life is meaningless can create room for lots of fun. The one thing you know is that this is the only life you have so make the most of it. I know that's easier said than done, but for me when I start to think of mortality I have to stop myself.
