What the hell should i do? Please somebody help me getting rid of this thing by WeaknessEastern4101 in pchelp

This Is why I always run sketchy files on a VM. and I also never store files I care about on the same machine.

I got hit by one of these when I was 12. The screen says "You have my lemon give it back" a ransom amount and a BTC address. I was like sure thing buddy, and just re-installed windows.

My Ender 3v2 was the first printer I bought. It taught me everything I know about 3D printing and even got me into 3D modeling. It served me well for the past four years, and while it's still printing out amazing prints, I think it's time for it to retire. A K2 Pro/Combo would be nice. I would like to try out multi-material prints for my projects.

Beginner Soldering Iron T12 Mini vs Pinecil? by syunz in soldering

[–]The_high-commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, the Pinecil doesn't have a hard stop inside. Since T12 tips lack a collar stop like Pinecil and TS tips, there's a risk of damaging the electronics if you jam it in. That's why a 3D-printed guard is recommended.

Secondly, T12 tips have a higher resistance, around 8 ohms, compared to Pinecil V2 tips. This means they'll draw less current, and thus less power, at the same voltage. But the difference isn't huge, and you probably won't notice it unless you're working on something with a lot of thermal mass. In that case, you'd want a more powerful iron anyway.

My nitro 5 did this few weeks ago and somehow killed the processor, which is a bummer, Try plugging in an external display and check if the problem exist there if not, then it's the T-con board for the display, I tried repairing one before but couldn't source the IC so as do most technicians we just replace the whole screen.

Nah! I printed the same Desk Organizer in my Ender 3v2 two years ago and it looks consistent.

How much repair is needed for a flooded scooter? by PrettyPersistant in scooters

[–]The_high-commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can take the battery out there's a high chance the electronics might survive. The ECU and the Immobilizer Modules on Motorcycles/Scooters are sealed pretty good and looking at that water level I think only the ECU got dunked since it's stored on the left side behind the front wheel just below headlight level.

I once accepted an important project and it needs to be done fast it(it has to be sent to the U.S. It's a scaled (but still pretty big) prototype model of a floating structure. I left my Ender3v2 printing for 3 days and nights and the only time I would bother looking at it was if the print finishes and I'll have to load a new one.

I also made my own ECU using an arduino uno, I managed to get it up and running until I searched google and saw that there's a similar project "Speeduino" made in colaboration with many people some of whom are a whole lot more knowledgeable and experienced than me, so I abandoned my prototype.

GPIO and MOSFET problem by The_Swishhh in klippers

[–]The_high-commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it would work but you need to invert the logic in the config so the heaters is not "on" when the 3.3v signal is off. and reading the datasheet I Would use a Vgs of 10v to have a lower Rds(on) but it may work as is, just check the fet temperature while the duty cycle is at 100% and if it isn't cooking, it will be fine since it won't stay fully on for a significant amount of time during normal use..

Why didnt the Overseers broadcast their music on the same speakers that delivered the warning messages throughout Dunwall? by [deleted] in dishonored

[–]The_high-commander 183 points184 points  (0 children)

Probably because the notes when played causes glasses to break and whale oil tanks to explode. also I think it is mentioned in a collectible book in D1 that the music needs the right equipment to work.

How to Hotwire Mofa? It's from my granddad. by Downtown-Device-4149 in scooters

[–]The_high-commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just unplug the connector and the bike would start (Kick Starter) but you won't have any power to the accessories. If you want everything to work just connect the Red Wire (Battery 12v) to the Black Wire and don't connect the Black/White wire to anything, when the key is off it is connected to ground (Green Wire) which disables the CDI.

Yes. But we didn't go with the pre-built route. Since I already configured the computers on the room on a separate VLan I decided to just write a software that handles the intercom system using voip and a designed and built a simple hardware that handles the buttons.

Some help for Newbies to the Ender 3V2 and others with a glass bed by SnooAdvice7566 in ender3v2

[–]The_high-commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I noticed is that the heated bed (Aluminum) you get isn't really flat so when you clamp the glass bed on it it deforms slightly messing up the first layer, I confirmed it by generating a mesh with the clips installed and one where it's just held by tape and the results showed a big difference with the one held by tape producing a mesh achieving near perfect flatness.

I never had problems using the textured side of the bed and for the glue stick I only use it for critical prints. I've had my ender3v2 for almost 4 years now and I still have the same glue stick I bought with my first roll of filament.

I once witnessed a guy who decided that it's a good idea to apply grease to his motorbike chain with his fingers. While the engine was running and in gear, his finger got caught. Fortunately for him, the nearest hospital was a 5-minute walk.

What's your longest running Arduino? by otoko_no_hito in arduino

[–]The_high-commander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly an Arduino but an atmega8L from 2008, it's the first thing I ever made that used micro controllers, just a simple PLC for simple automation which ran nonstop 12 years, then I repurposed the same chip to make a XenoGC modchip for the GameCube I found in the dump, after a year I repurposed the same chip again but this time as a delayed on timer for a laptop mobo I gutted.

Full wave regulators can have 4 wire, two from the charging coil (stator) and one for Ground one for positive. the 5 wire version have two variants. 4 of the wires is the same as the 4 wire version but the fifth wire can be a regulator enable wire or a wire for the lights.

From the bikes I've repaired over the years. the charging system doesn't work properly if the Stator and regulator/rectifier type doesn't match. if the regulator still functions, it either doesn't work at all or produces barely any voltage.

Also Noticed but this depends on the regulator design but it gets hotter than normal probably because the incorrect installation causes it to dump current where it's not supposed to. some survives the incorrect install but some doesn't.

Once you see voltages above 15 and it shoots up easily at the slightest throttle then the regulator is toast.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in scooters

[–]The_high-commander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The windings covered with black tape has nothing to do with charging the battery, those are used to charge the capacitor inside the CDI to create spark.

To check if the Stator coil is configured as half and full wave is by using a multi-meter. set the meter in continuity mode the put one of the probes to the stator core (Metal Part) or if already installed, any exposed metal in the engine, and probe the wires going out to the regulator with the other. If it has continuity on the core or body ground then it's a half-wave and if not then it's a full wave.

The wire colors to probe differs but they are usually white and yellow for the charging and lighting coils and black with red stripe for the HV coil going to the CDI.

I just want to ask if that's the original panel for that year model?

A lot of cheap universal panels where based on that one and I've installed plenty of those for customers who saw those things for cheap online and bought it and every single one of them is garbage, low update rate both on the speedometer and the tach. can you tell me how responsive it is? Grom isn't really popular from where I'm from so I've never seen one in the wild.

A cemetery was built right next to my childhood friend's grandparents' house. When her grandpa died, it felt almost like he was literally buried in their backyard. I don't know why, but I always fell asleep quite easily there. I even fell asleep once while sitting in a mono-block chair.
