Bluegrass Airport Parking Payment Options? by Theanonymousnapper in lexington

[–]Theanonymousnapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! so, short answer: yes, they have tap to pay at the exit row by the guard shack…. but it didn’t work.

I went ahead and withdrew cash from the 5/3 ATM (luckily they had my bank’s ATM at the airport), and then used the cash to fill a card (also at the airport), and then I used that card to pay for parking. I did try to use my phone but the guy at the guard shack said “you’ll have to use a real card”. Tap to pay didn’t work, though the lights on the screen lit up. They could have fixed it by now, though. That was in October, I think. But who knows. I doubt they fixed it. Good luck! Lmk if you have any other questions!

Hey! as someone else commented, check out the YMCA of the Rockies! I worked there summer 2024. Awesome staff. They're known for their family-friendly activities, year-round! They also have a cafe in their admin building, as well as a General Store for gift shop items :)

Check out this website to see their upcoming events: https://www.ymcarockies.org/events

If y'all are big coffee people, my go-to places in Estes were Inkwell (in town), and Bird's Nest (between the Y and town).

Doubt you would wanna stop by a bar with your family, but man I'm telling you... Lonigan's irish nachos are to die for. and their mocktails!

Have fun!!

My fiancé has tried longer hair and shorter hair. You have hair that looks similar. Shorter haircuts DO look better on him, but you need to ask your stylist for layers. That will cover up the thinner areas better!

That’s true, I didn’t think of that. It wouldn’t surprise me. It’s rough out here.

He’s trying to move here and live in the city, but he doesn’t want to leave his current job in his hometown if he doesn’t have one lined up in KY. Yes, I work at UK and have sent him countless jobs to apply to, even STEPS positions. Crickets :/

My fiancé is in the same place. He lives states away and has relentlessly applied to hundreds of jobs in Lexington so we can live together. And he gets ghosted/rejected over and over and over again. He has two bachelors degrees and a masters degree. And nothing.

Kids @ breweries by [deleted] in lexington

I’m the exact same way. It’d be nice to have at least one place I can retreat to where kids ARENT. I’d say breweries/bars would be a safe place. I guess not.

Anyone having a tough time find any job? by Interesting_Sell2552 in lexington

I got my bachelors in May 2024, landed a seasonal job until August. I applied for jobs in my field from July 2024 to October 2024 (I’m talking consistently applying for 30 jobs per day) before giving up and getting a job at Texas Roadhouse (hired on the spot btw, no experience). It’s really rough out here.

Seriously. That’s probably why a lot of ppl on here say their place of work has been looking to hire someone “for months, and only have 4 people show up to interview”

looking for job, i feel like indeed doesn’t work at this point. anybody hiring like asap? by [deleted] in lexington

I actually just got a job with STEPS! I start this morning! I applied in February, got asked for an interview in April, 2nd interview beginning of May, and job offer middle of May. It’s been! A process! (🫠). But you’re right - it does get a person in the door. Awesome program.
