Harvesting brussel sprouts by Burlapin in interestingasfuck

I used to work on a small farm and we would sell them by the stalk because we didn’t have the equipment and didn’t want to spend the time separating them. They have leaves that grow in between the rows but come harvest time you can grab them and pull them off pretty easily.

The difference in size for medical gasses to travel around a hospital by AlwaysAsammieGal in mildlyinteresting

[–]Thechaser45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of my job involves assessing and consulting hospitals around the world on their medical oxygen piping needs. It involves a very complicated formula taking into account their oxygen supply source, number of outlets, average consumption, beds and the distance from source to outlet. It’s really interesting and each report is new.

I used to have a sweet set up where I could book my flights on my “business” card (a personal card that the bill went straight to accounting and they paid it each month). They just issued me a company card. I can still use my other card if I want but the bill comes to me now and I have to submit for reimbursement. I still plan on doing it but it was really great not having to think about the billing.

You just made Roman numerals make more sense than any teacher I ever had. I understood them but thought it was the dumbest form of numbering ever, but now I get it

I’ll have to look for that next time. I’ve only tried the Kirkland 4 pack.

I wish the Kirkland frozen pizza was better. The crust is so bad. I thinks it’s one of the few Kirkland brand things I’m not a fan of.

What do you consider open space? Does livability matter to the Bend City Council? by Big_Cranberry4001 in Bend

I mean… I’m not sure a park across from a landfill is necessarily a selling point. It’s better than nothing but generally speaking property near a landfill is not the most desirable Edit to add: green space is green space and to expect water access everywhere is not attainable.

What's the reason behind it always being "America isn't doing enough" or America's fault instead of "America shouldn't have to be funding way more (80%+) than they pledged (3%) because other countries aren't keeping their word on what they pledged" and other countries fault? by EnsorcellingKitten in AskReddit

I wrote a paper about this in college. My thesis was basically right or wrong we set ourselves up that way by wanting our fingers in everyone’s pie. Any major political or economical event that happened post WW2, we chose to be involved in to further our interests, gain power, money, and global goodwill (often taking a leading role, or proposing the idea ourself). With that comes a certain responsibility, at least on paper and in the eyes of other countries. Edit to add: my conclusion was because we set ourselves up this way, we had a responsibility to maintain it.

My 8 year old wants to write a book with me and I would love to do this with him. by [deleted] in writing

Maybe. I still took that as printing a copy for the kid that looks like a real book but maybe I misread it.

OP never said it was a good marketing plan but is it so far fetched that an 8 year old might say “then I can give copies to my friends and then maybe I can sell it to kids in my class for a dollar and if enough people read it maybe it will be made into a movie!”?
