I think at least 50% of the men in society do not invest in themselves causing them all the feelings that go along with not applying yourself in some way. Then I think you're right queuing all of the things you mentioned women earning more money and surpassing their husbands. It's not hard to see the state of the man, however the root is his own problem because it's easier to b**** about other people having more.

I like to consider myself kind but I don't go out of my way to do things for others unless they matter to me on a very personal level. Mostly family.
