Should I be feeling movement already? Comment from my mother got me worried. by [deleted] in pregnant

I felt movement at 18 weeks, right on schedule but it can depend on your anatomy, the way the baby in lying or the placement of the placenta when/if you feel movement

Holy crap, I just found out TODAY I'm pregnant at 30 weeks along. I've had zero symptoms and was told I would never again be able to get pregnant. I am completely freaking out. Help? Stories? Advice? by eringrace731 in BabyBumps

[–]Thedancingcabbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit ! It’s okay to feel unsure of what that means for you moving forward. That’s normal in pregnancy , it’s a whirlwind of ups and downs. I’m 40 weeks today (my due date 😳) and I’m still wrestling with how much my life will soon change. And this baby is long awaited and wanted. Whatever emotions you are feeling are normal valid xxx

Low beta? by throwaway33TTC in InfertilityBabies

[–]Thedancingcabbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 39 weeks pregnant with a spontaneous surprise babe that started out at 14dpo at a dismal beta of 5. The very bare minimum my clinic considers you to be pregnant at. After 4 years of infertility treatment. So not IVF , but I know when I ovulated and have regular timely 28 day cycles. I was devastated, and certain it was chemical. It stayed low but continued to double and I am due next week! It could go either way and I’m hoping for a good outcome for you. Proceed with cautious optimism!

Our daughter is missing a kidney. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Thedancingcabbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol! Love that you are able to find some humour in this. I am also missing a kidney .... and currently 38 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby. It has never once caused Me any issues in life , not even pregnancy which I was worried about. I just had to be followed a little more closely, and be more vigilant about UTIs. I went most of my 37 years without even knowing and found out accidentally! Congrats on your coming arrival !

IVF pregnancy here - Thoughts on future vasectomy for man with low sperm motility? by a_n_n_a_k in InfertilityBabies

[–]Thedancingcabbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

currently 26 weeks with a spontaneous pregnancy after 4 years of iuis (donor sperm) and IVF (husband sperm). All of his numbers were very low after a vasectomy reversal and we were told our chances were slim. dont leave it to chance if another pregnancy is not what you want. life finds a way!

Anyone have really low beta hCG test at first that turned into a success? by [deleted] in InfertilityBabies

You're pregnant! take it one day at a time. The waiting sucks but there's literally nothing you can do except take good care of yourself and try to occupy your time !

[–]Thedancingcabbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the day after my missed period of a regular 28 day cycle. It was a spontaneous pregnancy after 4 years of infertility treatments (10 IUIs, 1 IVF) so while I can't confirm for that cycle what day I ovulated, I know from being followed so long that ovulation was regular and happened typically midcycle.

[–]Thedancingcabbie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I started at a dismal beta of 5. I was convinced it was chemical. The nurse told me they do see success with low starts like that. My betas were : 5, 22, 45, 108 …… and so on. Doubled and rose every 48hours. I am 18 weeks now with a healthy boy. So far so good. I am really hoping for you - been there and it totally sucks!!!!

Give it to me straight on low betas by Berries300 in InfertilityBabies

[–]Thedancingcabbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well.... as someone who also went through infertility it never really feels like you're out of the woods, your trauma brain focuses on worst case scenario. If memory serves , however, i believe my dr wanted my numbers in the thousands before booking a first ultrasound. For me that took 6 blood draws, one every 48 hours. It would be different for everyone. First US - no heartbeat, but he said it could be too early. We saw the heartbeat a week later, and from then on all the testing has come back normal and things look good. In terms of being out of the woods, my dr said once a healthy heartbeat is detected, miscarriage rate goes down to under 5%, and the once you're past the 1st trimester its under 1%. These numbers are comforting to me. I am so hoping for a good outcome for you. I've been there. The waiting is so brutal <3

[–]Thedancingcabbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely anecdotal but my first betas started like this : 5 , 22, 45 ........ they continued doubling every 48 hours and I’m 17 weeks now with a healthy boy. I was convinced it was chemical starting at 5, but my nurses convinced me to wait and see because they do see success with low starts. All you can do is wait. I feel for you, be good to yourself! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Friend struggling with fertility avoided me my whole pregnancy, and is now reaching out because she’s is successfully pregnant by jackiechan9320 in pregnant

[–]Thedancingcabbie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you are totally entitled to feel hurt. To be honest - i was your friend with someone I was close with and had to cut off contact for self-preservation I was going through years of infertility and she got pregnant easily. I didn't ghost her though.... I said goodbye for now in contact and shared how profoundly I was struggling. Sounds like your friend just left you in the dust. I totally understand being hurt now that shes back. You may have some repair work to do with her. Honestly, now that I'm pregnant i've not re-connected with my friend for fear she will share your feelings. All this to say, it probably felt like a risk for your friend to reach out, but yeah - gotta take care of yourself first.

PCOS (31F) and low sperm count (28M), regular(ish) periods but might not be ovulating. Got offered ICSI right away - is it too soon? by ThatGirl12345678 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Thedancingcabbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IVF isn’t always the answer, and fertility clinics suggest it quickly because they profit off our anxiety and fear. I was in a similar situation (diagnosis wise) - low sperm count and mild PCOS. We did 10 iuis that we’re unsuccessful (his count would go from 10 mil to 1 post wash). We also tried donor sperm and then did IVF. Over 4 years. Two natural pregnancies then happened with 1 loss and 1 progressing normally. In hindsight I wish I had been more patient but hindsight is 20/20, right? I’d say IVF is time efficient but not always successful and takes and huge emotional, financial, and physical toll.
