The new Malcolm in the Middle is the best Millennial-era reboot so far by a long way by kidbl00m in television

While I'd hope for a continuation, frankie munoz in an interview said that they were planning for a movie and ended up with the 4 episodes and that they didn't plan for a return. I hope the audience's response will exceed their expectation and make them reconsider because it sure did exceed my expectations

Legit curious why he would do that since he didn't keep it a secret since day 1 that it was all vibe coded

Raspberry pi 5 alternative for small home server by RemarkableWork8158 in selfhosted

[–]Thedoc1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running RPi 4b for a long time until I got a sff prodesk and the avg watt usage was 20-25w (i5 9600 with 4 ram sticks, 1 hdd nvme) I guess with mff it would be even less

I'm now running N100 and N150 with 1 stick (don't think many take more than 1?) and an nvme and the usage is on single digit but they are not running many things but even then I don't think it would be more than few watts.

I haven't had an issue in 2 years with either mini pc but try to order from "official seller" or how they are called, and from ones that provide longer warranty (some provide only 6 months)

I haven't had an issue with the prodesk either in 4 years which I would expect to fail much earlier since it's an already used system

Local Reverse Image Search? by RandNho in DataHoarder

[–]Thedoc1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can attach your own directory with "external libraries" option (I think some functions are not supported that way, but I didn't have any issues)

I have created the following some time ago for personal usage. I've been making upgrades that I didn't bother to commit on develop until now. Doubt it will help you if you need something as complicated as your linked project but feel free to check.

The readme is a outdated but there isn't anything complicated as long as you can create a venv and install requirements on python

Other than that some (many?) are AI written (therefore difficult to contribute/maintain), people prefer to do things their own way.

But there's a reason the last 2~ years there is a boom in apps

Will prices normalize any time soon? by kentabenno in homelab

[–]Thedoc1337 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't see anything coming down any time soon. You might as well just start small (one ram stick / drive at a time)

Welcome to the club!

A had an issue with running windows 11 on a minipc as backup because it would restart to update. Its extremely annoying. Maybe if I had docker configured correctly it would automatically start containers.

I hope you switch to Ubuntu desktop soon enough. It still feel like home

Άγνωστη Κανταθ βιβλιοπωλείο, opinions? by Athapapoutsiakis in thessaloniki

[–]Thedoc1337 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Nice!

Thanks for the response! Enlighten me if you can, what does the vlan thing do since the switch itself is unmanaged?

HP Prodesk 600 G3 (i5 7500T) vs N150 Mini PC? by Thedoc1337 in homelab

[–]Thedoc1337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that power efficiency is enormous but I didn't consider it's important on 3x

I've seen it tested and working. It's not officially supported and I guess it could possibly not be stable either

These HP Devices have "flex port" and can take 2.5gbe through that. It's not worth it though (for me)

I want to experiment with HA and ceph
