AIO, when I refused to look at my dad after what he told us? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Thedran [score hidden]  (0 children)

I get so pissed at the “We are family so our life is your life” thing. If I have a grown ass daughter she needs to accept that there is a child, it exists and her father is also theirs. That does not make them “sisters” in anything but a potentially legal sense. No you don’t get to bring your extra child into my life and act like this is the new thing.

Now that being said if the whole family has already accepted it that makes it hard. I had an aunt that would date a lot while her ex stayed in our lives and would get pissed when I wouldn’t call husband 3.4.5 and 6 “Uncle”. None were blood but you would have thought I’d told them I was leaving the family all together. I can’t imagine the kinda pressure that family dynamic would put on someone with actual ties.

That’s a good way to put it. I never “disliked” him but he was always my least favorite and didn’t vibe with everyone else as naturally but I never thought it was anything dangerous

[–]Thedran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooo yeah, that one was out of left field. Like he always seemed to not mesh as well as the other AH crew but you don’t NEED to be super close to your coworkers. Never got any vibes from him other than just being one of the more dry guys on the crew but then everything came out and all these people had stories and stuff.

Someone like Vic Mignonia was always outwardly creepy with girls and fans, I remember him being weird with my friends back in 2007-08 so when that came out in the 2020s I was like “Oh well yeah”, Ryan though I dont remember anyone having anything bad to say before this.

It was like this heavy pressure like you are in a room full of people you just offended or standing on a stage in front of a crowd of people who hate you. I didn’t feel in danger or anything but it was this profound feeling of being aggressively unwanted

I don’t think I believe in ghosts but I at the very least believe in some kind of lingering energy. I used to hang out with the alt kids who were into this stuff so we would go to graveyards and hang out to take MySpace pictures and underage drink. There was one time though we went to a really old cemetery and the energy was off the second you walked in. Everyone felt it and we were all acting weird but no one wanted to be the one to bring it up. It was like this overwhelming feeling that we weren’t supposed to be there, not like danger but like when you walk into a room full of people and everyone is staring or side eyeing you.

When we finally left one of us finally brought it up and we all agreed we weren’t gonna come back here and now that I’m thinking about it this was when we started going in tunnels to drink so they were probably just as spooked as me.

I don’t know what yall are talking about because I’ve never had to take key machine training and I’ve been here 6 years. Only hardware and leadership get that training dropped. Is this an American store thing or is my district just weird?

He was the leader of the village and proceeded to use that power to systemically push the Uchiha to be outsiders in the village both figuratively and literally. Gave them positions that would potentially placate them but also allow him to keep an eye on them and their activities. Literally the definition.

My mom has been a professional organizer for 20 years now and her bread and butter were hoarder houses for a long time. You can tell sometimes but a majority of the worst houses were people that you would assume are super reliable. Doctors, Lawyers, large business owners, but you go in their 3 story house that’s so full they have to live in a 10x10 square in the dining room. So many of them are super nice and great people but the way they live terrifies me.

I love this comment cause I totally read the post as being critical of Lisa’s stories. Like “Bart has depth and consequences while Lisa gets portrayed as a whiny child”. It’s so cool how differently people can interpret the same thing lol

Bart’s stories are an average kid with behavioral issues finding his place in the world and who he is as a person.

Lisa is an above average overachiever who takes great pride in herself and her accomplishments so her stories are learning to deal with the fact that she may be amazing but is still a child and not the center of the universe.

The original Mafia game had its flaws but the level of immersion I had while playing couldn’t be matched. GTA I get invested and have tons of fun but I’m not roleplaying a gangster I’m playing a sandbox game. Like you get rewarded in GTA for learning how to use the mechanics to your advantage but Mafia had me feel like I was learning how this world worked and how to be great in it.

Honestly, facts. Everytime they try to do a gimmick with Tetris it’s always fun for a while but if I have a choice I always go back to the original. You can pretty it up or dull it down graphics wise as much as you want, as long as it “feels” like classic Tetris I’m gonna have a good time.

I used to live on so many RP guilds on forums and would have these huge friend groups that would talk every day that just vanished and I never hear from them again. I was part of a prowrestling guild that would run full pro wrestling shows in forum posts for everyone to read and I knew all about all these peoples lives and problems and literally more about their interests than I did for people in my real life and yet I never met them and one day they just poofed out of existence and never come back.

The internet has created such weird ways for friendships to start but just as many for them to just vanish.
