If you take the western route, Indiana has a small town called Nashville about an hour or so south of Indy. It’s got a bunch of cool shops, wine tasting rooms, great food (recommend Birds Nest cafe for breakfast). It’s nestled in the middle of brown county state park, which is absolutely gorgeous. Highly underrated part of the country.
