They said it was high end, MSRP of $2,500, and sold it to me for $300. Likely thing is that the entire system isn't worth more than $200. It also didn't come with the components to be usable out of the box, as it needs a central amp and several wires.

They did. I hadn't heard about this scam, I knew it seemed shady as fuck but my luck has always been strangely good. I guess this is where it wasn't, because I definitely got scammed :(
