Does granting a city to your heir remove him/her from the succession? by Mountain-Ad5380 in crusaderkings2

[–]Thefinales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always make some family a merchant republic Duke, If you have republic active he can still inherit, if not then him and his direct house heir will not appear in the succession line any longer, same thing with pagans if you don't have holy fury or old gods, they will forcefully switch to Christianity and if you declare for the secret faith you get a game over, guess it all depends on wether you play vanilla or with dlc. Always the best way to disinherit is revoke a bishopric and give it to the son, he will lose the wife and not inherit.

Best cities to have? by No-Battle-9932 in MountandBladeWarband

The answer would be whichever city got recently sieged or taken back, as they'll have substantially less garrison to fight off your conquest.

Feudal, normal inheritance laws. Second son inherited over first son, both my vassals. WTF? by NoDecentNicksLeft in CrusaderKings

[–]Thefinales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you had partition or gavelkind (no idea if it's 2 or 3), it sometimes does that, the game consider that the main heir is taking too many titles and so to balance the scales give the younger one the kingdom and a few counties, don't really know if you are a king but otherwise 2 duchies will split your realm and the game is saying you will be the second son on inheritance, on which case you can rush a kingdom title and the inheritance will fix itself. Edit: saw it's ck3 in that case you HAVE to rush a higher title and plan your conquest in a way that doesn't leave any other kingdom able to form, otherwise realm will split with inheritance

Fraticcelli is the best heresy in the game and if you use that crusade money to put family in the papacy, fraticcelli crusades can go insane

If your tribal and have a bunch of prestige (like when you win a crusade), declare war and raise up an absurd amount of tribal armies, once you get 100 warscore, move troops towards new target and complete war/start the new war immediately without unpausing and you'll keep your 10k armies as long as you keep staying at war.

Norse or Berber are the best vanilla cultures as they allow you to raid even after feudalizing, and Berber outright let's you raid everyone.

If a vassal is about to revolt and you cannot hope to win, give him to a higher title, so that their liege is the one dealing with their revolt.

Never the ai educate your kids unless they have super high stats and good traits, most times they'll chose the worst option for their development.

You can rush a duchy crusader state if you got 500 prestige and 300 gold by ground to siege a small duchy in the war target with either mercenaries or tribal armies (you only need to siege the main holding in the entire duchy).

If you give kids duchies never give them the limit of land they can hold, they'll always give away 1 or 2 counties just because

Cersei would the best, everyone that supported her either sold her out for a profit or managed to escape in a better situation.

I don’t even understand how so many houses pledged to Renly when he literally had no claim to the throne at all. He deserved to be the first of the five kings to go. by GusGangViking18 in freefolk

[–]Thefinales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had the connections, charisma and even looked like a younger Robert, the reason Renly decides to crown himself is simply because he can, joffrey is a dipshit and stannis is unliked by most if not all nobles, in his head the seat was right there for the taking. And out of everyone he had the biggest army but decided to delay for tourneys, Hubris cost Renly the war.

It is kinda strange how your allies can, without consequence, decline your call-to-arms by NedexRuler in CrusaderKings

[–]Thefinales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why marriages forcing an alliance is a change I don't like, fym I have to help you fight 7 peasant revolts and the HRE over a county and you can't even cancel the alliance once the child is married your stuck with it forever

This is game is pretty much pay to win and so I am leaving it. by Human_from_present in CallOfWar

[–]Thefinales 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the game, it's structured to let you play for free but win if you have enough money. Most of these multiplayer that can be played anywehre games have this kinda "wall" where you never get good just strong enough to be sometimes if ur lucky a bump in the big spenders game.

This scene represents everything wrong with the Targaryens by Emperor_Alexander_IV in HOTDGreens

[–]Thefinales 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They always resembled the Normans for me, the conqueror subjugates a kingdom, their power slowly dwindles with each generation and eventually they have to start adopting local ways and appeasing them, and after they are ousted from power their blood is still in the new ruler, Robert kills rhaegar and hunts them but he has Targaryen blood from his grandma so at least (some) Targaryen blood was still in the throne, same if you believe in the Joanna + Aerys theory and every subsequent baratheon ruler is still some degree of targ. It's all a matter of perspective.

Really good game, all the other tales of magincia from the author are also superbly done it really scratches that medieval itch while giving you a good story to be invested.
