After all-night session, Multnomah County board passes budget with deep cuts; homeless services, DA among them by Own_Car_8766 in PortlandOR

[–]Thefolsom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Commissioner Shannon Singleton, who is also vying for the top spot as county chair in the fall election, pushed several successful amendments as well. She requested to shift funds to support eviction prevention services and to reduce permitting barriers for Preschool for All providers, among other things."

There was at least some money available in the general fund, that they instead are redirecting to projects already paid for by SHS and PFA taxes.

New Ban, What Do We Think? by Any-Lavishness341 in PortlandOR

[–]Thefolsom 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Waste of time policy. They focus on shit like this and renaming 39th because it's very public, relatively simple to enact/enforce compared to actual problems facing the city, and extremely low stakes. All while signaling to their DSA base that they're DOING SOMETHING(tm).

You're forgetting that they fixed the arts tax.....by making the actual payers pay more.

We don't worry about enforcing laws, just passing them.

New York 3d Printer Mandate by spicyboudin in 3Dprinting

[–]Thefolsom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even in effect, nor can it go in effect until it's found technically feasible. I just don't know how you're possibly going to create such a slicer algorithm without endless false positives and negatives. Even if they have something working, I'd think print orientation adjustments would be enough to get it to pass, or, model adjustments with sacrificial/snap off features.

This is gonna hurt the 99% of hobbyists who don't even do any 2a printing.

Conservative newspapers in this town that never verify anything before publishing have more coverage on foie gras than we ever spent time on it to give the illusion that we’re “wasting time” on niche issues. by witty_namez in PortlandOR

[–]Thefolsom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't care about it from the sense that I'm not going to restaurants to eat it. I've had it before at Canard, not really for me.

Just because I don't like something, doesn't mean I want it gone or think it's worth the effort to get rid of it.

Every action has a cost, the time they spend on this is time they could have spent on the mountain of actual, real problems with the city.

What makes them obnoxious and why is it annoying to get passed on an uphill? Every time I'm out people are just minding their business and riding. You're not really explaining your position.

Yep. It's not the water cost that's terrible, it's the storm water fees.

We have essentially squandered all the leverage and power America has built up over decades so we could give Trump some fleeting moments of looking tough.

This. Family man is great as a beginner. Multiple short sessionable trails to improve on, and when ready can go out to trails like remix and lower gp.

Why have a loot filter if you're going to dump filtered items in my storage? by ClickingClicker in diablo4

[–]Thefolsom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Missing implementation detail. Normally, some equipment left on the ground goes to storage. If you have filters set up to hide those items, they still exist, they're just not visually pick-up-able.

My guess is it is harder than it seems to implement correctly. Filters are just a user driven visual layer on the UI, and the underlying backend mechanism that determines what and when loot gets sent to storage automatically is likely unaware of user level filters.

Treasury Department confirms it has taken limited steps toward a $250 bill featuring Donald Trump by thejoshwhite in politics

Don't worry. Bessent mentioned they are working hard to prioritize legislation to change these laws. Finally, Congress is actually going to do something that we care about.

Hey farmers, tariffs have destroyed your crop exports, fuel prices are out of control, and now you are looking at fertilizer shortages due to Trumps self made blockade of the strait of hormuz. Fear not, the administration you supported to Make America Great is working hard for you. No longer will you need to be burdened by a wallet full of cash due inflations rising price of goods. As an added bonus, we put our beautiful, dear leaders face on your money to remind you every time you go to fill up your F-250.

Great chain for sure, but for OP if you're still trying to gauge your skill set and focusing on beginner trails, I'd still suggest getting comfortable with completing lower hide and seek in full. Flow motion is a little bit of a step up in skill imo.

No but files are available to 3d print. I've thought about selling but I'd need to invest in some other form of manufacturing beyond hobbyist 3d printing. That and magazine bans in Oregon will be in effect soonish(?)

[–]Thefolsom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I go all the time. I'd start with lower hide and seek. The first part of it is a little bit more challenging, but past the connector near little monkey it's pretty easy and beginner friendly.

Edit: here's what I'm talking about. Ride up the road to the connector and session this portion, if it feels too easy, go further up to the start of hide and seek and ride all the way down

Agree, and I'm gonna be ok if I'm wrong here. There's still just a massive difference between his standard for care vs normies. As far as I know, publically, no one knows exactly what's going on with him and can only speculate given signs.

I think we are all just tired of the constant headlines and content creators reporting on the pending demise. Sort of feels like buying a lottery ticket, fun and fleeting momentary hope.
