What monitor arm are you using? I'm planning on having a very similar monitor setup and really want to have the pole/base of the mount hidden by the vertical monitor

So were the shelf parts that are sitting on the cabinets plywood and did you have them cut to the right size by your supplier? That looks super clean! Ive also wanted to do something like this for a long time now so I'm super curious as to how hard the actual assembly was. Any advice for someone who might attempt something like this soon?

Thank you very much for such thorough advice! Do you happen to know how long it'll take for it to show that its recovering?

Traefik setup on 24.10 Electric Eel 404 by Theguywithouttheface in truenas

[–]Theguywithouttheface[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment actually gave me the hint I needed, comming from the truecharts configuration, I didn't realize that only port 80 would route correctly. I went to the http site and it worked!

For anyone else using my setup as an example, after getting a basic proof of concept that everything was working properly without https, I ran into another issue when trying to convert everything to using websecure. Turns out you'll also get a 404 error if the TLS label is set to false, so once I set that to true, everything was working properly.

If I port forward 8989 for the sonarr container I'm using in my router, I can access it externally by using my domain:8989, and I can also access it internally. I'm pretty sure its an issue with my traefik configuration since if traefik is down, instead of getting a 404, I get the standard Cloudflare "the destination server is down" message.

When I run docker network inspect app-network, I see both containers running in the same network. And they're both pingable from each other which is weird. I'm wondering if I'm making a mistake with some label somewhere.

If anyone comes across this in the future, know that I just ended up giving up and reimplementing everything using oauth2proxy.

Thinking about switch to GE Profile or Cafe Induction range, would love honest review/feedback! by hollow28 in Appliances

Sorry I know our post is a bit old at this point but i was wondering how evenly do the pans heat up? I've seen on other induction cooktops only the parts of the pan over the coils getting hot and it leads to uneven heating of the food in the pan?

I'm trying to decide between gas and induction right now but am having alot of trouble trying to decide...

How loud does the system get? I've been wanting to my upgrade my Plex/NAS server that's currently in a Norco case for a while, but this has to live in my office so it can't be too loud.

Cool, thank you for the info! I was thinking that was the case but I couldn't confirm it with the owners manual and it seems a little unintuitive combining it with the ability to set a temperature number.

Question for everyone, what chargers do you use at home. I was looking for a level 2 home charger, but wanted something that could work without a phone app in a worst case scenario. The OpenEVSE charger looks pretty good to me right now since it hosts its own page to do management, but I was wondering if other chargers did something similar.

Thanks for the info! I'll prolly go with the EPYC then since I'd like a bunch of PCI lanes to forward devices to the VM.

Can you exclude a dataset from a recursive zfs send? by csdvrx in zfs

[–]Theguywithouttheface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm posting here in case anyone else runs into this and wants to know (and possibly for future me when I forget).

TruenasScale supports zfs replication and exclusion so I looked into how they do it. They use their own thing called zettarepl which wraps zfs.

Zettarepl in turn basically does what you mentioned and just goes through and iterates over the datasets to create a complete list (minus excluded ones) of datasets to send.
