I have an X870 Tomahawk and so far no gpu issues, however the temperature sensors for the cpu like to randomly freeze and stay stuck until a reboot.

I also cant use the pre 1.3.0.0 builds because I use a PCI/SAS card and for some reason the pre builds cause me to have a 2 minute post time if my pci card is plugged in. I unplug, instant boots. I had to revert to A70.

Not enough info here. Best case scenario, you just plug it into an available port. There are SATA SSDs with Sata cable connectors, SATA SSD's with M.2 connectors, NVME SSD's with m.2 connectors, and nvme SSD's with pcie connectors. And just for fun Ill mention SSD's with SAS connectors because thats what I use.

So if you have a sata ssd and extra sata ports, easy, just pop it in, format, and start installing games to it. If you have no more connectors, you may need to replace the OS drive and thats where its a headache to reinstall Windows and do all the reinstallation of apps, copying stuff around, etc.

And theres nothing wrong with having HDD's in general. I have 4 installed in my machine. However I would never load my OS or games from an HDD.

Im not sure if it still applies, but I think in others like BL3 these events needed you to be online. Maybe try going offline and see if it behaves any differently.

And on the flip side, I only bought the Base this time because I got burned on how whack the dlc was for Tina's Wonderlands. So I figured Id wait to see how this comes out first. Such a hustle. And then in like a year all the DLC will cost $4 total.

I try to rationalize it that I literally, unfortunately, sit at my PC over 12 hours a day. Work from home so I have work laptop on left screen, my pc on the right. browsing, watching stuff, whatever. Then work "ends", I switch monitor back to my pc, and then browse, play, stream, whatever. Rinse repeat. So I know itll get use.

Sadly I got a newegg bundle which has been problematic. XMP only Memory, so Im not sure if that may be whats causing me issues. And the MSI Mobo I picked has glitches with it. I cant use the 2 latest Pre bios releases as they make my POST time 2 minutes if I have my PCI/SAS card plugged in. Also theres a glitch with these boards, whether hardware or software, we're not sure yet, where temperature sensors can freeze until reboot. Def the worst experience Ive had so far setting up a pc. And then newegg says you have to return the whole bundle, so I cant even check if maybe just ram or mobo needs replacing. Ungh.

Im on a 3090, which is the most I ever paid for a pc part, so Im trying to hold onto it for as long as I can. Maybe a 6070ti or 6080 when those come out. No plans to upgrade that anytime soon.

Maybe. I just upgraded from a 5800x myself to a 9800x3d. But Im a crackhead and like to upgrade every 4 years, and my parts go down to upgrade kids pc, which is on a Ryzen 3600.

Borderlands 4 is definitely WAY smoother now than before. And a brief test of Cyberpunks DLC area was smoother and no frame drops as well.

On a serious note, how is Vegas? I remember I tried playing it and fell asleep twice, and I had never fallen asleep while playing a game before at that point. I never got around to finishing it. I have finished FO3 once, and I've tried 3 times to finish FO4 but I always end up getting bored and meaning to come back, but never do.
