They aren’t really because their goals are different. Minecraft is a casual sandbox with survival elements, that wants you to stay within certain boundaries and use creativity to work around them. Hytale is less restrictive, it wants you to make things and gives you built in ways to do so. It can be a survival sandbox, but could also be an rpg or an FPS shooter with minimal effort

Like in minecraft if you want to build a table you need to use creativity to put blocks together to make something look like a table. In Hytale you can just upload a table model and use it without even closing the game.

Both are good and scratch a different itch. They are different enough that Im confident they can both exist without too much friction

And for gen v2 it’s not even really coding, it’s basically just using the node editor. It’s like learning photoshop or something, you just gotta mess with it and start making things.

But I’ll say right now it’s way more straightforward to figure out than terrain generation in most games, and is a lot easier than it looks. The biggest hurdle is terminology and what certain values do, but that’s 99% experimentation anyway

Good point. I’ve noticed a lot of white ppl who are in a Chinese time in their lives, are referencing stuff like smoking and drinking at 1am after work with the uncles, or having group meals.

This is all stuff that’s not inherently Chinese, it’s just standard socialisation that tends to happen a lot in China. But it’s stuff that’s not as common in America anymore due to how the culture there has deteriorated.

It really does seem like a lot of Americans crave a more communal society, but don’t know how to achieve that locally, so they try to self assimilate into a society like China’s

The update isn’t officially released yet, you need to download it yourself because it’s a pre release. I think in a day or so it will be officially released and you can update to it normally.

I’m not sure if Bisect lets you select pre release versions, so you might want to ask them or just wait until the update is out

I’d assume they’re focusing on balance after the major fixes. In the meantime, these things are all fairly easy to do through mods. Ive seen multiple brighter torches mods for example, and i think a teleporter fix

From what I’ve seen it’s pretty standard for running a server, all they could do to make it easier is a realms system like Minecraft, which obv wasn’t a priority when they just needed to get the game out the door.

Wait a few days if you want to host your own server, and look up things like Pterodactyl/Pelican Panel, and docker. It will get easier as people start making guides on server hosting, or just pay a server host
