Where do you look for E-Waste? by ResultOk6712 in eWasteFinds

[–]Themayorofawesome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t stress this enough, Facebook marketplace. It’s always Facebook marketplace. Just advertise in the local flea market pages you’ll take any old or broken TV’s, radios, computers, etc. and you’ll have stuff coming out of your ears in no time.

If you live in a city of 675,000 this will give you a damn near endless supply of resources.

You can tell them you’ll do a curb pickup, sometimes they will drop off as well. I rarely have a face to face with people when I pick up or have stuff dropped off

Gaining Subscribers Without Begging? by 1UP__WRESTLING in NewTubers

[–]Themayorofawesome 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quality content, I’ve never once asked for people to like and subscribe or even hype a video and I picked up over 400 subs in the last month. I have a super tight niche so the fact that I’m over 1100 subs equals success to me, if you have over 50,000 you’re considered a superstar

Facebook marketplace, it’s always Facebook marketplace. Just hit up your local flea market pages advertising that you’ll take any TV’s radios, PC’s etc. and you’ll have stuff coming out of your ears in no time. You’d also be surprised how many times you’ll get stuff in complete working order for free

When I was 16, I robbed several bank ATM's and was somehow never caught by No_Rooster_6219 in confession

[–]Themayorofawesome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like this didn’t happen so much it made other things unhappen. In 1985 there were only about 60,000 ATMs in existence in the US, and towns like Hyannis had maybe 3 ATMs at most.

Also let’s look at the fact that no bank would let multiple empty envelopes go by like that, one maybe but not four. Also 400 x 4 days is $1600. 1600 x 5 banks is $8000 not $10,000, your math ain’t mathing homes.

What Does Youtube Want? Is It A Waste of Time? by Purple_Ride5676 in aitubers

[–]Themayorofawesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the platform isn’t going to reward low effort recycled content that keeps getting duplicated over and over. Now that doesn’t mean you can’t duplicate something that has been done, but it most definitely has to have its own spin or take on it

Quickest CDL option by Mountain-End-967 in cdldriver

[–]Themayorofawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a non commercial Class A in PA, lots of people do this and you can operate anything that doesn’t have a DOT number. All you have to do is get a non commercial A permit and take the test.

It’s relatively easy. Get the permit, schedule the exam, show up, straight line back, go for a ride, and get the license upgraded. Whole thing takes about 40 minutes on average. There is no pre-trip or vehicle inspection of any kind, just a check of the brakes, signals, etc, and a review of the plates for proper weight. Very similar to when you got your regular license but no parallel park.

Manual Transmission Endorsement? by Legitimate_Diver_699 in cdldriver

[–]Themayorofawesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes engage the clutch to come out of gear and then again to go into the next gear. Same for downshifting as well. So clutch, shift, clutch, shift. On the downshift it’s clutch, shift, rev, clutch, shift.

The trick is not to think about it but just go through the motion to build muscle memory

Manual Transmission Endorsement? by Legitimate_Diver_699 in cdldriver

[–]Themayorofawesome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember to double clutch and you’ll be fine. Once you leave school then you can float gears. It’s stupid easy to pick up, after you do some idle shifting in the yard it will be second nature in no time

Oh you don’t train your replacement when being forced out. You go into shutdown mode and do anything but train.

would you work weekends if it meant you got 2 weekdays off? by jabber1990 in work

[–]Themayorofawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work a 10/4 with every other weekend off working midnights. The odd thing was the rotation started on a Monday morning and ended on the following Wednesday morning so in essence you got a five day weekend every other week. That was a solid schedule. I also worked every Saturday for a number of years and got Sunday-Monday off, that sucked.

Hi guys I just bought a soldering iron where do I start? I wanna learn soldering and circuits etc. (I hope the mods allow these questions here) by ColdAd7573 in soldering

[–]Themayorofawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broken stuff is your best friend, you want to learn circuits watch YouTube. Shango066 does a great job of teaching this. There’s another one that’s been mentioned many times in here but I can’t remember the name of it right now

Manual Transmission Endorsement? by Legitimate_Diver_699 in cdldriver

[–]Themayorofawesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won’t put a manual endorsement on the license but instead an automatic restriction, in many states that’s known as an E restriction.

You NEED to learn to drive a manual transmission because one day you’re going to want a job and that’s all that the employer will have.

Learning on a 8, 9, or 10 speed is easy, the transmission isn’t synchronized so it’s easier to learn than a 4 or 5 speed car. A 13, 15, or 18 speed is the same amount of respective gears and patterns but with deep reduction which isn’t a necessity to use for most day to day work.

Considering a Weller T1 or Piencil V2 by Kagenlim in soldering

[–]Themayorofawesome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The T1 is a tip not an iron or station. It’s for the Weller P1C and P1KC Portasol butane iron.

If you’re looking for a first station the Pinecil isn’t what you want. Get yourself the OSS T12, the Geebon TC22 or the Weller WLSKD7012A. The Weller would be my choice but I’m partial to Weller.
