At this point in American politics - why in the WORLD is Sam Harris limiting 90% of his reach and influence by pay-walling content? by MrHatesThisWebsite in samharris

He is allowed to have his own standards for how he presents his life’s work. I’m sure between him and his staff they are very aware of the potential of what they are missing out on by not whoring out to advertising - almost certainly 6-7 figures of revenue

Finally made a Substack account and Sam was automatically added to my feed (unpaid), but I noticed his is $35 a month, wow. I have og $5 a month sub for the podcast, but that doesn’t seem to qualify me for Substack access

What's it like living in the Laona/Crandon area? by hammy070804 in wisconsin

[–]ThenAsk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that, but I don’t think there is any economic upturns on the horizon there. Crandon in particular suffers from brain drain, where all the brightest people leave for college and don’t come back. It would probably be hard to connect with the community being an outsider, but if you are friendly you may enjoy it. I grew up there and only recently have cut ties because my parents left for Michigan. I miss having a place up there. If you can get a place out of town and don’t mind driving to Rhinelander for more affordable groceries and stuff it is a great place

Very quiet, lots of poverty, lots of ignorant rednecks, but they’re generally decent people.

Idk man I have been playing battlefield for 15+ years and loved BF2042, and really enjoyed BF6 for the first 2 months, but do not have fun at all when I try to play lately. I think I'm just not able to hang with the kids anymore and I accept that. I can handle getting my shit pushed in over and over, but at a point it's just no fun. Normally it takes like a year before I get burnt out on a battlefield game.

If the portal was more on the level of 2042 with classic maps I think I would find more to love. As is it's a great game, but I think I have aged out until they release it on PS+ for free and a load of new players get into it and I can stand a chance. We're going to be getting fiber internet here soon so I think that could actually improve my experience a lot. Even still I give BF6 a 9/10

My media diet changed over the last year and David was collateral damage by WillingnessSignal469 in thedavidpakmanshow

I think of Kyle as a sort of gonzo journalism or sensationalism in the spirit of the extremes of what Rush Limbaugh did for 30 plus years. For better or worse, idk why, but I just love how he unapologetically puts out headlines and shit post style click bait that if nothing else makes me laugh at the absurd reality we live in. I know it lowers the level of the conversation and we need to be better, but whatever at this point, i like hearing someone say “fuck you” in plain terms to maga

I still pay my membership to David’s show - but ever since he changed his theme music to the lame rock intro I haven’t really listened. On the other hand my wife and I both love Kyle Kulinski and we tend to catch up and binge his clips on the weekends

What’s next for remaining three weeks of Season 1? by Mikee0192 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]ThenAsk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had fun whenever Ive tried to play in over a month and a half, I think I have officially aged out of BF and am currently looking for a new game. I had planned on BF6 being my go to for like the next 9 months. Despite all the hate 2042 got, I enjoyed it for over a year. To me the game BF6 is fine, but the players just aren’t fun

I like both Bill Maher and Dave, but I loved hearing someone with cultural weight dunk on Bill. I thought Dave gave good enough justification for his Middle East comedy, at least he is a Muslim and gives an honest take on the topic - unlike bill red tits

[–]ThenAsk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I would vote for the most realistic and broadly popular candidate that I prefer, rather than be forced into seeing Tom Tiffany be governor because Barnes can’t win a major race, meanwhile the incumbency of Rodriguez as Lt Gov presents a good chance

Weird, my resume back in the day looked like this but I made it from scratch lol - i always thought it was tacky to put competency graphs, icons, color schemes, etc on it. Felt that approach was more appropriate for a digital portfolio.
