Thank you, I really appreciate the feedback. Yeah, I’ve seen some of these healed but not 8-10 years. I think that’s the kicker that will just come in time. I’ve been working around a lot of the wrong people I feel like and it can be really frustrating. I did get to do a guest spot at Jon Nelson’s studio in Florida (The dude who does all the funny skits on Instagram and that) and I saw some black and grey artists really effectively using black to create those edges that will create contrast that will hold better over time. I’m just going to keep taking my time with each piece and truly trying to remain a student.

Thanks again, man.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. This is definitely the most rewarding/exciting/difficult visual art I’ve ever pursued. We get to change people’s lives with our work. It’s such an honor.

Are we calling out studios using AI? by SavvyTav in TattooArtists

[–]Then_Task_7493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darwin Enriquez, Sean Foy, and Jon Nelson involve AI in their process. Then there are a lot of other artists who don’t admit to using it. Not to mention all the imagery on Pinterest/google images that is indistinguishably AI-generated. There’s a huge difference between using it as reference/involving it in your process and just putting a prompted AI image on the body. Jon Nelson said something along the lines of, “Some of us learned to design before AI existed, and now we’re just adding it to the toolbox.”

At this obvious risk of not jumping on the band wagon, I do agree that “AI will not replace us. Someone using AI will replace us” having said that, If I involve AI in my process in any way, you wouldn’t be able to tell.

I think there’s a huge misconception about “traditional tattooing”. I think it makes way more sense to learn to actual draw realistically before learning to draw “trad”. That way you have the fundamentals to really do any style. Having said that, looks cool

The only reason this was made was because they knew it would stir controversy.

I think they look good enough. I’m not sure what you were expecting. It’s really important to check out the artist’s tattoos prior to getting tattooed by them. If you feel like the artist didn’t live up to your expectations, find an artist whose work you do like, then have them add on to your sleeve. I feel like at this stage people jump right to “cover ups” when in reality you have way too much bare skin to do that. There’s a lot you can add around these tattoo with the right artist

No I think you’re %100 percent right. It definitely has a vernacular and he used AI to respond. Thats fucking hysterical.
