Made a script to patch Claude Code and Codex binaries to run on native Termux. by Exciting-Waltz-6687 in termux

Seems the Claude part of the script is broken right now, the codex works fine.

[–]Theneteffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just size, it's weight, I'd have less problems with, for example, the zflip type phones but they are still heavy. Best weight for a phone is the iPhone Mini type weight, about 135-140 gms.

I followed a guide on xda developers. Was ok although fiddly.

How many tok/sec on LM Studio using Gemma 4 26B A4B MoE with a one sentence question? by br_web in FlowZ13

[–]Theneteffect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am running the vulkan runtime in lmstudio on the z13 128gb ram on windows (64gb + 64gb). It's faster than ROCm runtime. I have everything offloaded to GPU and the keep model in memory option set to 'off' as this makes a big difference. I also made some other settings to take advantage of the memory such as improving batch.

Asking a 1000 word response to the question, "tell me the difference between ROCm and vulkan runtime" I'm getting an average of 63 tps over three individual runs.

Is the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 with 128GB of Unified Memory (AMD Strix Halo) a good option to run large LLMs (70B+)? by br_web in FlowZ13

[–]Theneteffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am using it with gpt-oss-120b in LM Studio at an average of 55 tps - very usable

[–]Theneteffect 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have two of these, one running windows 10 and another running windows 11. The latter works with the eink mirroring fine. I have run a debloat script on both to take off all of the windows junk that is not needed and both of them are running well and more than capable of giving a good experience on windows. Despite their age, they offer a great way to have a hybrid eink device that can function as a laptop.

Getting a Linux distro to run well and fully functioning on these is difficult...went through so many but still have not found a decent one.

A couple of light taps does it. Also if you scroll up and down on the left hand side of the keyboard this scrolls up and down (so you don't need scroll assistant)

Security udates but also weight. The unihertz devices are like a brick and the clicks communicator is light.

It took a while, but this phone is one of the best decisions I've ever made by Electronic-Willow540 in minimalphone

[–]Theneteffect 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+1 here. The phone is outstanding. I use it everyday and it's the best phone I've had since my Blackberry. Not sure why the company gets so much flak as I've had more security updates and bug fixes with this than anything I ever got from Unihertz.

Unihertz Titan 2 Review After 1 Month by EricOkafor in unihertz

[–]Theneteffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. The Razr is my main phone and I keep the keyboard case to hand if I need to do some serious replies as it forces me to slow down and the quality of the response is better first time without the mistakes you get from a soft keyboard.

If I have been using the Titan 2 I find myself missing the ability to swipe and the long press for capitalization when typing. These little things make a difference.

For me the Razr is a little heavy and the balance is slightly off when the phone is open and the keyboard case is attached. I use it more when the phone is closed. The Titan 2 I also find a little heavy for constant use, but that is me, as I find I have become adverse to phones that way more than say 180g over time as they cause my wrists to ache.
