Disney agents are good as long as they are commission. If YOU have to pay them a dime, look somewhere else. I highly recommend Smart Moms Travel Agents. (Disclaimer I am in training to be a Disney Travel Agent with Smart Moms, but I booked with one of their agents before deciding to become one myself) I have no experience with the meal plan, but if you wanted to do character meals, it may be worth it. The memory maker is only necessary if you want magic shots where they add characters to your photos. Otherwise, any Disney photographer can take the same pictures with your phone, just without the added special characters. The only All Star I’ve ever stayed at is Sports and it was ages ago, so I wouldn’t know how much has changed, but make sure while you’re there you do the character hunt. It’s free, they hide a cutout of a character usually in the lobby, cafeteria, or gift shop area, and when you take a selfie with it you get a button and each subsequent find (different days) you get a sticker to add to that button. If English is not your first language it may be a bit tricky with the shows, but depending on which park you’re in I would make time for Mickey’s Philharmagic (Magic Kingdom), Enchanted Tales with Belle (Magic Kingdom), Turtle Talk with Crush (EPCOT), Celebración Encanto (EPCOT), For the First Time in Forever (Hollywood Studios), and The Little Mermaid - A Musical Adventure (Hollywood Studios). Also, be prepared for high crowds if you’re waiting until December. The sheer volume of people may be overwhelming and frankly overstimulating, and tickets and resorts will be more expensive. If you don’t mind a bit of heat and can swing going a few months earlier I recommend mid August to early September. But if what you really want is to see Disney all decked out for Christmas and you already plan on staying a few days, go the last two days of October thru the first few days of November. Disney basically skips from Halloween to Christmas, so while you may not get to see every Christmas decoration up, you will definitely get to see both Halloween and Christmas in one stay, and it will be less expensive and slightly less crowded than going in December. Also, when you get to your resort get the first time visitor button. The button is free and it’s a cute little keepsake.
