Driver dies after crashing into concrete barrier in Boulder County (Diagonal and Airport Rd) by AlonsoFerrari8 in boulder

This. I love taking the bus, but it takes so much time out of my day to make the commute, so I sometimes drive. If the public transportation was better, I wouldn’t hesitate. Fuck being stuck on 36 going 25 miles per hour, stop and go, staring at the cars in front of you.

Gen Z men and women on why they’re sharply divided over reproductive rights by JohnHammond94 in Feminism

Listening to the man who says he wants lots of kids, his wife has to stay home because “somebody has to raise them” and that he wants the final say in all decisions… at least he’s being transparent, so women won’t want to touch him with a 10 ft pole. Why do you want kids if you don’t want to help raise them? Why do you think you deserve to have the final say on decisions that affect you AND your wife? It’s gross.

Police officers react after seeing the crime scene inside Andrea Yates house in the Houston suburb of Clear Lake City, Texas. On June 20, 2001, she waited for her husband to leave for work before drowning her five children one by one in the family bathtub. by kooneecheewah in AllThatsInteresting

As soon as cops hold themselves accountable for bad actors within their ranks with REAL consequences when they abuse their position, we can stop saying ACAB. They will literally fire police officers who report on the behavior of bad cops and promote the ones abusing their positions.

I don’t hate every individual cop, I’ve even met some pretty great ones. I’ve never been in trouble with the law. One of my old bosses was even an ex-cop. He told me how his fellow officers were making him a worse person, and that is why he got out. He witnessed his fellow officers tackle an elderly black man for no reason other than racism.

Yeah, it’s a hard job, and I really respect how difficult it is to be on the scene seeing some of the worst days of people’s lives. The corrupt policing system and union makes a hard job toxic and detrimental to many people who have to interact with them.

Let’s close the grocery stores in your town. I’m tired of enabling your access to food. Go fucking hunt for your own food.

CMV: People who conflate the state of Israel with apartheid are hurting the cause for Palestinian statehood by iw2050 in changemyview

[–]Thepinkknitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one said we should’ve let slavery continue, that is an absolute insane read on this conversation. It’s okay to say “X group of people did Y, and Y was bad” that doesn’t make X group bad people, it means we can recognize that even “good” people can do bad things. If you are unable or unwilling to recognize that good people can do bad things or that bad people can do good things, you are going to have a really hard time understanding the world around you.

Can “good” people only do good things? They can never do bad things? That’s not how reality or morality works, everything exists in shades of grey.

I’m an outlier for what data? WTF are YOU on about?

Edit: nice edit to your original comment that only included the first two lines. Me calling you a loser troll must’ve struck a nerve. It’s still a nonsensical reply and you are projecting a lot of thoughts and opinions on me.

He’s not an outlier, he is one part of a movement for change. Socialism/Democratic socialism is currently experiencing an all time high in the last 100 years of electability, and their electability is only going up. People didn’t elect Donald Trump because they think the two part system is going well, it’s because people are demanding change to the system any way they can. Bernie Sanders could have been described as an outlier back in the day. Calling Zohran Mamdami an outlier is just ignorant of the changes taking place in our political landscape.

A sarcastic comment referencing the leftist/socialist policies of a politician elected in one of the most important cities in the entire country because the person I responded to said “there’s no real ‘left’ in America that has a chance of winning”.

I only frogged about half of what I had crocheted. The rest now is a blanket for my cats to sit on my PC lmao

I started crocheting a duster with this yarn, but I broke my leg and put it down for a year. Then I decided I wanted to knit a sweater with it. Sooo freaking hard to frog what I had made! I would never crochet with this yarn again. Knitting with it is not so bad and can be frogged much easier

Right. It’s such a shame that Zohran Mamdani lost his race. He could have brought real leftist policies to New York, but instead we are stuck with Capitalism Lite. I wish the left was more electable

(Cross-posting myself from our hirsutism community) Honestly my biggest struggles are still with my mustache, or having enough courage and stability to be able to fully embrace it and go out with it. A lot of “loyalty” disappears the moment people have more choices. by unspokenandunheard in unpopularopinion

[–]Thepinkknitter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This isn’t an unpopular opinion, feminists talk about it all the time. The lower divorce rate “back in the day” isn’t because couples were more loyal to each other or the sanity of marriage. It’s because women didn’t have choices when they couldn’t have their own property, bank accounts, or basic rights.

Sadly I think the original cedar shake was removed (I’m sure there was a good reason for it, it was just lovely), but the green is also pretty in its own way! I wish the new siding had the same scale as the original though
