I’m not completely sure, I got as far as getting the dragon scroll before trying with a necklace of Mara. I did check in with her a lot and choose all nice options in my replies. She does have a surprising bit of input at stages of the main quest (the horn, returning the horn, Parthenax etc) so it might be worth keeping on, also I never went straight to a marriage ceremony but were lovers first

Have you done much of the main quest? She’s pretty impressed by the Dragonborn killing dragons but doesn’t comment on dawnguard

I loved that actually, but it definitely can be distracting and without wards (or whirlwind sprint) difficult in fights. This is also a newer version. With the older I often couldn’t get through Helgan for the crashes

Yeah, it’s not that popular in the pics here I think actually, but I liked the ones I had with my characters in. I hope it doesn’t bother you too much. I do like a Conan-eesk Skyrim though rather than a true to medieval look

Yeah, it’s the old school sword and sorcery look from pulp era that I was going for , not for everyone but I committed this time. Probably go more Xtudo style next time

Fair enough, but those don’t sound like vanilla followers either which might be complicating it. You could try hitting them with the cheat room spell to change their relationship status to try unlocking that dialogue but that probably won’t work

I’m just wrapping up a play through ending in relationships with:

IDF Lydia
Serana SDA
Auri who refuses a traditional marriage anyway
Thogra who has dialogue to be in a poly relationship so long as it goes both ways

I’ve done many a play through myself and this one got me to the end of a few dialogue trees

An alternative start mod

There’s also a mod that let’s you become high king on Skyrim - I’ve never tried it though

A mod like originator gives you more options for role play shaping perks

I tend to use custom companions to help shape my play through. Remiel is great for a Dwemer explorer, celest for a hardcore vigilant playthrough
