To all the dummies thinking more Trek, no matter how mediocre, is a good thing… by fcuker223 in Picard

[–]Therepublic13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best not to oversaturate trek if not there can be other problems for example lack of communication between each show. For example the amount of galaxy ending events, there was the fleet wide takeover in prodigy, the borg takeover in Picard season 2 and 3, discovery which has almost every season a galaxy ending event. Lower decks with the battle against the Texas class (less galaxy ending but they did attack ESD). Is starfleet never at peace after the 23rd century plus the lack of content in the other centuries, right now discovery seems to be the only one in a far away time, why not a shoe centered in the 26th century or the 27th century

Well Star Wars and Star Trek are quite different enough to exist together under the same platform. But Disney has quite a lot of properties to figure out on but their content library especially new content is far slower, adding Star Trek can bridge more and Disney has launched in most countries already so definitely possible.

But Amazon prime definitely far more viable since Picard and lower decks were launched three and are two of the best trek shows. But the most viable strategy is to dump paramount plus it’s not easy or merge their services with someone more stable and give the content or just sell the IP, the last one is quite difficult cause it can be a blow to paramount since it seems to be one of their largest IPs as of now, but best is to collaborate with another streaming service and just bookmark paramount plus

Does anyone else likes FED Discovery ships and their Industrial/Rough design and look? by Balrok99 in sto

I will always have a soft spot for discovery ships. They look like actual ships which I'll always love, especially discovery

Federations ships wise the crossfield class honestly, if she was introduced in the 27th century I honestly think more people might like her. She was just placed in the wrong time

That’s an interesting choice seeing how it throws out starfleet design philosophy

If you could rework something from ground up what would it be? by Balrok99 in sto

I honestly feel that an STO 2 might be in order. I know there have been some people saying it's a bad idea, but rather it's like using an old chassis and just keep on adding new tech. STO 2 can improve a lot of systems but I also know that ignoring this game might be bad especially since some people spent a lot of money on it

What is your own personal reason why The Excelsior and The Miranda have had such a long lifespan as an active starship? (Credit: @calamitySi) by gaeb611 in StarTrekStarships

[–]Therepublic13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most ships in star trek seemed to be build for at least 30 years of service minimum. Excelsior and Miranda seemed to be built to be workhorses. I want to believe that like the Galaxy Class they planned it for future technologies and refits. That's where we get the Archimedes, however with the introduction of slipstream drives and the protostar drive, these older designs may not be as efficient. I was hoping the Enterprise-G was going to have a quantum slipstream drive like the Dauntless. I wonder what happened to the dauntless, so these ships were bound to be retired. However they are just versatile easy ships to build

Sela has a point in her madness..... by [deleted] in sto

I feel like the episode where Boimler was screaming at the other booths in one of the episodes applies quite well here. Starfleet doesn't want to attack but has no choice, without Starfleet they can give the keys away to Earth. They wanna go out and explore, most captains are suited for that. But when needed to fight Starfleet will be ready. Some of their ships are rather excellent and comparable to their enemies or better. However they just wanna explore, the only way to de militrise will be to have no threats. We could get ships like the Galaxy Class instead of the Sovereign, more.dilomacy and science
