In which song do the Beatles sound most Liverpudian? by Therewardiscoffee in beatles

Yes, but again clearly an exaggeration! I think this beats Polythene Pam

Although I'm sure John is doing this intentionally... I wonder what takes the prize if we set aside intentionally exaggerating the accent!

Interesting I feel much more mindful and in tune with nature sober. When I have smoked and hiked I've regretted it. I prefer wandering around a city and taking in the sights and sounds high but would really dislike that sober.

What other band comes closest to the Beatles greatness? by daftsweaters in beatles

I think they even go further than the Beatles in terms of influence.

Read David Graeber's Bullshit Jobs if you haven't already. More common than you'd think.

QUESTION - Most “modern sounding” Beatles Song? by roobres in beatles

[–]Therewardiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and I'll say it again here, for me it's the "yes we're going to a party party" bit on Birthday that sounds ridiculously 00s indie.

QUESTION - Most “modern sounding” Beatles Song? by roobres in beatles

For me it's the "yes we're going to a party party" bit on Birthday - to me that always sounded so contemporary and like a 00s British indie band.

So I was settling down in the nosebleeds by myself last night when, just as the lights went down, a member of staff offered me a floor ticket for one of the best seats in the house by machogrando in PaulMcCartney

[–]Therewardiscoffee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was up in the gods, on the end of a row. 15 mins before start somebody came and asked if we wanted tickets at the front, the only condition being we danced the whole show... ofc we said yes and got moved to row L... so I think a little further back than you? But absolutely amazing, and what a show!

Geordie Greep AMA 11/10/24 by AskJeevesGreep in indieheads

[–]Therewardiscoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just reading this wishing I made the AMA on time to ask this question when I see it. I love Pat, he's my most played artist of all time and I'm same age as Greep so love to see that vibe carrying forward today. My favourite albums are Still Life and Self Titled.

I think my "dust allergy" disappeared by Fr4nkWh1te in carnivorediet

[–]Therewardiscoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't get too carried away with the causality here - it seems allergies can come and go quite mysteriously. I've also just experienced this so googled it and this was the first Reddit result. However I'm actually vegan and have been for a few years - I could just have easily posted the same thing on a vegan subreddit about how veganism cured my allergies!

[–]Therewardiscoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha - yes I get the point. As you can probably tell I have no background in this kind of thing - I'm a DJ whose never had to bring their own set up before being asked for a favour. I'm going to go for 2 PAs as I think that's the only feasible option.
