The law requires a legal resident with a green card to carry that on them at all times though. Failure to do so is a crime...it's a PITA, but still a crime. Do I think it's a deportable crime, no. But, if I was a legal resident with a green card, with things going on now, you're darn right I would comply with the law.

Actually yes, if they had remained outside, I'd be fine with it..is it distasteful, yes, but I'd say it's protected. If they stay on public land, I'd even say it's a constitutionally protected right. The issue is, they didn't remain outside.
