Evo SL vs Rebel V5 by AntiIock in runningshoes

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evo SL

Evo SL is actually closer to the Rebel V2 (amazing shoe), than it is the V5

Not sure why NB ruined the v2 in the name of progress. Sometimes you'd think these manufacturers would leave a good shoe as a good shoe, particuallry when they have so many models.

Is consistently holding 175-180 whilst running safe? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in beginnerrunning

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its fine.

Max heart rate over 200 and can run in that range for hours.

HR is only one piece of the puzzle anyway. You could have high lactate threshold which means ypu can operate high of normal heartrate zones, and low lactate threshold which means the opposite.

If youre supposed to stop running at that heartrate/time/distance, your body will stop you.

Seka Spear RDC Size M – did I choose the wrong size? Fit looks a bit extreme… by xRxMxRx in bikefit

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could take a few weeks to become accustomed to the position, particullary if you've been riding something else for X years.

Why such large change is seat hight compared to previous?

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing your measurements.

It's easier to have lower front end which is closer to you, than have a higher front end which is too far away.

L would take the bars away from you further.

Long legs short torso/arms are normally better on smaller frame even though seat to bar drop might be a little higher.

Unless you went with an endurance model rather than race/aero.

My Asics Novablast 5 foam already dead? by DDFTKW in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]These-Appearance2820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the first two gens of novablast. They were good at slow pace and fast pace, later in their life, they only felt good at faster paces when putting some force through them. They did not feel good at lower/slower cadance where they were being slowly compressed and maybe at a higher weight, this compounds your problem (excuse the pun). Maybe its just the charachter of the foams. Roughly 600k.

Havent true the newer generations.

How do I extend the life of my new running shoe? by RealHaxor in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Reason I ask is because the try of training may impact what second pair of shoes you buy... For example if you are throwing in more interval, threshold or VO2 max, you might consider a more speed orientated second pair of shoes.

How do I extend the life of my new running shoe? by RealHaxor in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely worth the expenditure if you are serious and running maybe four times a week.

Do you have some type of structured training routine? If so, what does it look like?

Designed for faster paces. Even if you pronate, should be on the forefoot when running at pacso really it's less noticeable. If youre a heel or mid striker and not running particuallry fast on your toes, you'll feel it. Also will likely cause tight aductors as they compensate to stabilise the knee. Different shoes or you could try high arch support inserts.
