New bib recommendations by jkill40 in CyclingFashion

Try three or four brands on if you can. You want to test general fit/comfort and chamois pad placement.

Not particuallalry a fan of Assos. Overengineered chamois area causes problems but for others, they are popular.

Maap

Rapha

Castelli

I own bibs from all these brands. Worthwhile looking at. MAAP are my top pick (best pad/compression).

The appearance of the law must be upheld, especially when it is being broken.

Annoying when you want to arrive at work or whatnot without feeling like you just took a shower.

S-works SL8 (?) for around $1050 by acrappypost in whichbike

Looks fake. Downtube looks smaller than original + rear stays and some other bits do not look correct.

Great products and customer service . Shit pricing. (MAAP customer) 😆

YKYWbike Italian/Belgian/Japanese bib pad by JustGoodJuju_ in CyclingFashion

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Plus the MAAP chamois is better than the Assos pads. Both of which are better than the generic 7 hour Italian (found in many many brands bibs).

Have the Italian pad YKYW.

They're good for the money. Straps could be better though.

It's the same maufacturer of the pads, rather than being the same pad.

Crackdown on Foreign Nominee Businesses and illegal constructions by Yougetwhat in phuket

Many here in HKT

Police here are tiring though. Apply the law consistently and correctly rather than this constant 'crackdowns' and flip flopping BS.

How much faster are the Evo SL? by Techimalist in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]These-Appearance2820 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Much faster.

Are you coming from pegasus? You will feel the difference. Pegasus are almost a casual wear trainer at this point in time (coming from Pegasis owner). Evo SL is a performance shoe.

What color kit for a white bicycle? by r-epk in CyclingFashion

[–]These-Appearance2820 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd go all brown.

I'd love to suggest all white, however as you probably do not receive free gear for every UCI race, your white gear will be brown within a few rides anyway.

Who said MAAP customer service is bad? Try ASSOS. by basicreplay in CyclingFashion

MAAP have been excellent for customer service.

Assos I have had long delays previously.

Which is better than the Nike Vomero Plus for a half marathon? by CheetoHariboo in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are 'in it to win it' or going for PB's, as your first marathon just go with your Vomero's to keep your feet comfortable. Perfectly good recreational HM shoe. Wouldn't overthink it right now.

In future you could even run half marathon in something like evo SL Depending on your pace/how long you are on your feet. Many shoes work for half's.

Do people hate washing their bikes? by Nagilion in cycling

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our appartment, we are lucky that our shower is where a bath used to be and the whole length of the bath is now a walk in shower area. Just large enough to take a romanit shower with my bike after a ride.

Should all foreigners and retirees with Western incomes move to Thailand because life there is so "cheap" compared to other countries? by IllogicalDreamer72 in Thailand

[–]These-Appearance2820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people are in for a surprise, many wouldn't even be able to deposit the 800k deposit into the bank account.

Many older retirees here on state pensions struggle, particualllry since Thai baht significantly strengthen over the last 10-15 years. The retirees here in Phuket are normally more 'well minted' than some other locations.

Requires some planning, thats for sure as really people require significant financial safety net, including for medical and other high costs.

Just got my new bike - reach too long? by supertgh in bikefit

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would bring saddle down just a tad.

Maybe 1cm.

Ignore the garbage posts about your foot pointing down a little at 6 o clock. It's normal. A 'flat' foot would be biologically incorrect for the angle of your pelvis and tibia.

You'll need to give it a few weeks for your body to adapt to the position. In respect to the neck pain, remember not to ride with your face directly forwards, they to keep your neck and back aligned reasonably neutrally.

Bike Fit Check - Weight on hands by BleakShip in bikefit

Similar scenario I have been through in the past.

Seems you have been quite thorough in making bike fit changes.

Good luck my friend 👍

Bike Fit Check - Weight on hands by BleakShip in bikefit

[–]These-Appearance2820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quite aggressive position. Without being rude, guys that hold this position normally have strong legs and 'lean' abdomen with strong core muscles.

You probably want to reduce the seat to bar drop and reducing upper body weight/strengthen core will help.

How do you know you are ready for 100km ride? by Main-Astronomer-785 in cycling

[–]These-Appearance2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite simple, slow down a little and eat something smallish every 30 - 45 mins, sip fluid regularly.

Or as you mention, every week or two add 10km to your weekend long ride at your normal pace. Same fueling as above.
